1. Hats off to West Sabine. Those guys played a tremendous game. SA playing Brookeland and Pineywoods back to back caught up to them tonight. You could tell it'd been a while since they played a significant game.
2. Broaddus is the 3 seed out of district 23.  Tonight will determine the 2 seed (if San Augustine wins).  If SA does win then the 2 seed will be West Sabine.  District 23 will sweep the bi-district round.
3. So since Sabine pass isn't good, I guess that makes the other teams in this district besides Big Sandy not good, since they have 5 wins against them...
4. If West Hardin can beat Evadale at home threatened could very possibly sneak into 2nd place.
5. This district just had a wacky night.  Evadale gives Big Sandy a run for their money.  Sabine Pass gets rolled by Colmeeneil (if that score was correct) and West Hardin beat Hull-Daisetta, who had been talked up very highly on here lately.
6. Well that just means we won't see bobcat 55 on here for a couple of days.  Nice win for west Hardin.
7. Surprised at how close this one was? Is the score misleading? Big Sandy not play well? Evadale play way above their heads?
8. SA was up 40-4 after the 1st quarter...score could have been very very ugly. And just a word on Pineywoods.  They don't exactly help themselves during the game.  They try to press and run and gun.  Not a good idea.
9.
Cayuga was impressive when i watched then in Teneha...
They have been beat by a team in this region already. And that team has been beat by a different team in this region.  The top 4-5 are all Austin caliber teams...Witt the exception of region 2 and Triple A, they could win any other region.
I thing yuga will win reg. 3 all the playoff games will be fun too watch.BS Shoot the ball from outside very good.
Cayuga will earn it if they do. Will have to go through Grapeland, Tenaha/Big Sandy and probably SA (who has already beaten them) to get out.

12. I really believe that San Augustine has as good a chance as anybody of being the region 3 rep in Austin.  They have only gotten better since a rough stretch through the Christmas break where they were short their best player for several games.  Their defense is so much better than even when they played Big Sandy.  Big Sandy showed them some things that they needed to improve on and it looks like they have gotten better because of it.  Gonna be a fun playoff run that is for sure.

Broaddus had no answer for San Augustine's pressure and San Augustine killed them on the boards. 5 guys were in double digits, another had 8. Starters were on the bench about the last 10 minutes of the game.
Starters were on the floor to start the 4th quarter.
No sir they weren't. Tanner, Smith, Randle and Horton came out with about 2 minutes left in the 3rd and stayed there. Thomas was the only starter on the floor and that is because a sub had fouled out.

15. Might want to get to this one early...not a big gym and a pretty good little rivalry. If you how up around 7 there may not be a seat
16. They called and said power is out. Won't be on till 7 or 8 lol
17. San Augustine at Broaddus is tomorrow night. Broaddus lost power for a long time this afternoon supposedly.
18.
SA took a good win last night on the road. THey were the better team.. But they will have to shoot a lot better against Broaddus than they did last night. Don't know if it was the fans hype or what but they couldn't buy a bucket for most of the game.  If Broaddus is on and starts draining the bucket it could get interesting.
Without a doubt it was probably San Augustine's worst shooting effort in a long time.  Couldn't throw it in the ocean at times.  I don't think Broaddus will handle the pressure as well as West Sabine did.  SA should win, but by no means will it be a cakewalk
19. I'd take SA's best 5 personally, but that's just me.  WS didn't have an answer for 1,3 or 4.  12 does the little things that don't get noticed.  You can fill in several guys to make that best 5 very good.  SA really didn't use their depth like they normally do.  The bench normally gets more minutes than last night.  But hey, A win is a win is a win.
20. West Sabine came out playing hard and jumped on SA...but from about 4 minutes in to the end of the game, SA out scored em 58-35.  Great defensive effort from SA, not so great offensive effort. Barely 30% from the free throw line.  SA just imposed their will defensively once they gy settled down. Forced alt of turnovers, dominated the boards. Need to continue to improve on offense.
21.
These 2 teams are nearly mirror images of each other, with both wanting to run and gun as many times as they can. Too close to call so no prediction. WS will have their hands full Tuesday, but so will SA. Should be an exciting game. As with the Broaddus game last week, whoever hits their outside shots and free throws consistently will prevail. Should be fun!!!!!!!!!
I don't disagree with this statement...I'll just add this too it.  SA has 10 guys that can play and rotate in...West Sabine does it with 6.  Getting into a track meet isn't going to be their best bet.  WS is going to have to slow it down or they will just get worn out while SA is sending in fresh legs.  CATMAN...Pineywoods is a private school in Lufkin...Awful at basketball.
22. Besides district, not a lot to compare these two teams.  Only common opponent is Chireno.  WS lost to them in an early tournament by 2.  SA beat em by 30 around Christmas but SA was w/o their starting pg.  I think WS is probably a lot better now then they were then.  I think SA will win, but don't really have a prediction.  Won't be surprised if its by 1 or by 30.
23.
Is that how BS beat SA out gun them.
Absolutely.  Don't remember his #, but one kid from Big Sandy scored like 30 points, mainly from the 3 pt line.  I was impressed with him.  They scored the most points SA has given up all year.  I thought San Augustine had a chance to win, but Big Sandy hit the big shots and SA didn't. Plain and simple.  Scoring 78 would've been enough for SA any other game but it wasn't that night.  That's outgunning to me.
