Congrats to PNG! Way to represent SETX. Also this should send a message to local schools--- the only baseball coach in the area to win state in the past 10 years (since Jasper won in 2007) came from OUTSIDE OF THE AREA... Yet local schools still keep recycling the same six coaches or hiring from within.

This list seems to indicate that the actual hire won't be applying until the day of the hiring, kind of like Toby Foreman and Duane Dubois when they got Central and Bridge City jobs.

Whoever the OC will be in title only as Nelson at Ozen called all of the plays and ran the offense himself.

Is it true that the Rossow player on Brazosport doesn't have any scholarship offers and isn't committed anywhere ? If true someone needs to let Tic Price know or if grades are an issue then the coach at LSC-PA

I do have to credit the coaches for not screwing this up. They were given a plethora of talent and am so glad coaching decencies did not get in the way and the great athletes get to celebrate their achievements as state champs !

Argyle because of the style of play, coaching, discipline and execution is the only team in the state who can bear Silsbee in this class. Brazosport doesn't have the depth to play with Silsbee. They can't beat Silsbee at their own game; no one can.

I knew Sigler would get outcoached. This is why Silsbee can't have nice things.

Could Silsbee be the area's WO-S for basketball ? Both undersized teams with overwhelming athletics WO-S football 2014- heartbreaking loss in state championship 2015- state championship 2016- state championship Silsbee baskeball 2016- heartbreaking loss in state championship 2017- state title 2018- rinse and repeat ?

If it is a close game I don't trust Silsbee's coaching so they better get up quick and never look back

Don't know the situation here but I do know small town politics and I don't think new supt would be doing this on his own in a brand new job in a brand new town. This is a big decision and one that is not going to be made without board backing. But then the board can hide behind the Supt and say "it is his decision and they are just being supportive and giving him a chance" ... something smells fishy for sure and it is more than just some new guy from out of town wanting his people if someone in the media is reading this please file an Freedom of information request for all emails from the superintendent to Barbay with the words "baseball" in them

While I am still all for Barrow is it too late for Darrell Barbay to throw his name into the ring now that he needs a new job?

Keep the football coach/AD together and then give English more money and some title like "Associate Athletic Director" ... the preferred language is very friendly to Barrow

If a masters is required and Barrow thought he had a shot at this job wouldn't he have gotten it by now? Lamar offers that online educational administration masters program that he could have easily completed. The fact that he didn't bother to get one leads me to believe the admin wants to go from outside on this one.

It sounds like Silsbee is moving to a running offense under the new coach so if he had stayed there he probably would not have been properly utilized. I'm not saying Evadale is a better place to be utilized in the passing game either though.
