  I am still trying to suck up to daddy23 who is the BCS commissioneer.He puts out the rankings every week..Maybe I will get in, if he keeps us up there.. ;D

WOS squeaks by Brookshire Royal..Hooks says "Royal's QB couldnt hear anything due to all the WOS cheerleaders being there"

"It was a good game,but something extra was here tonight,alot of noise and seemed to be louder cheering".

Let's move on..Week 6 is almost here.

I just have to say that I think some of these rankings are not justified.  That may be the teams schedule and that my be their record but some of these teams have not played any of the top teams.  Where as some teams have had to play ALL of the top teams or will before its over with.  Look who some of these teams have played (or not) to get their rankings.  I am just saying... in my opinion!!  Okay, I feel better now!!

By the way I am not talking about the top rankings... look at the bottom half!

It's for fun.make up your own rankings it that makes you feel better..There all in good fun and don't mean anything..

The local news paper in Vidor puts out a paper every week. BUT they do not have a website or a link I can credit the news paper for. This is parts of a article that came out today.

  The Vidorian shopper:

  In addition to teaching the game Coach Mathews said he and his staff try to teach life lessons to the players. "We try to teach the kids life lessons and things we want to do,and one of the goals I have here at at Vidor is I want to change how people outside of Vidor look at us," he said. Five years ago,Donald Stowers who was their head coach over there (Central) decided we were going to pray together to show kids of different colors it doesn't matter," Mathews said. "We've done it every year but this year I didn't do it. I just forgot about it. Without having to tell them,the kids got together. The Central kids and the Vidor kids showed respect and hugged eachother after we had already shaken hands.  They got together,they prayed together and I think that's a great life lesson. Learning to judge a man by what's inside of him, not what he looks outside.

The thing we started five years ago was carried over. It's not that Donald and I were doing it, it was something the kids believe in. The kids show respect for each other".

Coach Mathews said Central running backs O'Neal and Daw came over after the game and hugged him and said 'Coach Mathews, keep your head up,y'all did a great job'.

"That showed a lot of class by those kids. Five years ago,when we played Central there was no talking after the game. You could feel the tension. Now the kids have a lot of respect for each other. Our kids are crying after the game and they would walk over and hug them and tell them to keep their heads up. That says a lot about them."

By only winning 1-0 this week we should probably drop in the rankings so with a win yall might move up!!!!!!

TD, if you can only score 1 point this week, I think you are right.  That would have to drop you in the Power Rankings the following week.   

daddy23, I'm not sure who we play the week after this week but how many points would we have to score that week to get our Power Ranking back up?   ;D

I won't take that dare. Whatever the score I just hope we both come out of it healthy. Good luck. I really want some of that coach that coaches yalls other team.  ;D  I think he has just about enough people out that we might have a chance against him. With my football knowledge I could probably just out coach him. 

    I am calling mercy, mercy, uncle whatever you want me to call...lol.. I am just happy to be ranked 8th.. ;D

It is a true honor to finally be placed on the weekly power rankings. I feel alot  of pressure now and I hope I can live up to the expectations that go along with being ranked..

 Really it's a great rivalry, but outside of the two teams playing its just another district game to everyone else.

No offense..BUT if you aren't from Mid county, mid county madness don't really matter to any one else..

I understand it's a great rivalry and all that ,but outside  of PNG/Nederland it's just another game.

Through reading posts made on this board, I've found out that Bmt. is having problems with their teams.  They have had to combine right?  i've read about some of the teams not being a team anymore.  I have not been able to figure out if this affects only a few teams and their schedules or everyone who is supposed to be playing them.

If I'm remembering my schedule right, WOS sr. is scheduled to play a Bmt. team this weekend.  Can anyone tell me if the problem they are having will affect the game?

It only affects the Jr.schedule. Bmt.Gold Jr is the only team to merge with Bmt.Blue. jr.

the other divisions are not affected.

Come to the Babe a few hours before kickoff and I am sure you will be entertained...

Vidor/PNG has been cancelled

The flu is running rampant through the area, hope it doesn't play into too many games.

It is very bad. we had 3  kids out yesterday..and I know the Jr.high has several out..

One of the Jr.high games for tonight was cancelled due to a lack of kids..

It rained hard this morning..it quit for about 2 hours and now its back at it...

Scooter2!, I hope it is going to be broadcast this Friday.  Joesbros does a fantastic job and I can't make the game until about halftime.

actually there will be 8 teams..two wild cards along with first and second place of each division

I will let the kids know today  that our goal is to atleast get in the power rankings... ;D

  And your right about worrying if we will have enough kids to have 11 out there..wow....

3 Nederland White 4-0 Only given up 1 TD all season

4 WOS--Blue 3-1 Only loss to Lum-Wh. 

5 PNG--White 2-2 Only losses to #1 and #2….tough schedule

6 Vidor White 3-1 5 out of the Top 10 are from Div 2…tough schedule upcoming

7 Bridge City 2-2 #7 overall and #4 in their division…Div 1 is strong

8 Nederland Gold 3-1 Look like Div 3 FrontRunners

9 Lumberton Red 2-2 These teams are close with 3 LC and Vid-Bl in the mix as well

Again, just my opinion for fun....I will take the highest ranked team in each matchup.  But it really appears that WOS-white and Lumberton White are playing at another level.  After that, there are going to be some good teams left out of the playoff mix at the end.

actually BMT.Gold is merging with BMT.Blue this week.So PNG purple should have a bye week. The Gold team is dissolving. How I understand it is, whoever the Gold team was suppose to play for the rest of the season has a bye.

I remember a few years ago when there were a few Pirate fans that were making wise cracks ( you know, the kind that nobody laughs at) about the Jag players, our stadium, and the neighborbood that the stadium is located. I want to know if those same pirate fans are around... ;D ;D
