2. I never underestimate the financial acumen of the Dove
 3.
Dove, if you multiply 425.00 times four and the other three guys are young married guys on a budget it kina puts things in perspective. ;D  May have to bite the bullet next year.
No- Look-  I was thinking that the Dove was suggesting a situation wherein one DIVIDES $425 by 4 rather than multiplying.  Additionally, I am sure you would be entitled to a Gestapo discount.
 4.
Will Yates play real basketball next year since they will be playing in the lower  :P?    ;D
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
 5.
Are the coaches of 1A-3A "REAL" coaches?  Or should every accomplishment they receive or state title they earn with their players have an asterick by it?  Of course I am joking, but just going with the thread. Coach So and So 3A Coach of Year:  *500 career wins  *3 State Titles  *9 Regional Appearances * Not "REAL" basketball.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
 6.
Yates run offensive sets. Just because they don't make 10 passes like some 1-a, 2-a & 3-a teams  ::) , before shooting the ball, yall can't recognize it  8)
Does that mean they don't understand "real" basketball?
 7.
Argyle proves that a 3A school CAN succeed in both football and basketball.  State runner up in football and state champs in basketball.
I did not see the Argyle Corpus game but  I am inclined to believe that intellect had much to do with Argyles victory.  Can anyone confirm or deny my theory please?
 8.
And of the top 10 crowds of all-time at State Tournament, 4 of them are 1a and 2a. That is a whole lot of people (16,000) that didnt watch real basketball.
;D
 9.

This topic was brought up from the State Tourney games today wich were lower classifications.  We called them 'not real'.  Thoughts?
"Yates '6"7 senior Clyde Santee finished the game with just 8 points going 1 for 16 from the field. Grayford's Zack Tabor had a game and tournament high 43 points. Zack was 19-23 from the free throw line and also grabbed 15 rebounds." Now which one of these were playing "Real" basketball???
;D

DICKIE!!!!
They lost 6 times this year...they just wouldn't lose to anyone in SE Texas!!! Including HJ!! ;D....It was a GREAT GAME! Heartbreaker, but great!
Some guys on here know nothing about basketball if you watched the game Yates was easily the superior team and could've won this game easily but i feel they were being arrogant
I thought that the superior team was the one with more points at the end of the game?
You've never heard me say Ozen , Central , or HJ is mighty or real basketball  :D I'm referring to Kimball, Ft. bEND Travis, etc, These schools have players who may be future NBA stars. Kentucky ain't looking at no players from White Oak, Clarksville, and whatever other school in 1-a, 2-a, etc.
....  and your response is.....?
His response might be that Natchitoches and Summerfield Lousiana (not real towns, of course) spawned Joe Dumars and Karl Malone and Ames Iowa brought you Harrison Barnes at UNC.  I would mention French Lick but it makes Dove mad.
 12.
Celtics looking to trade Rajon Rando. Opinions?
If it is true, I can't imagine who they could get in return that would make a fair trade.

I was impressed with what I saw. But guess what? Still aren't good enough to beat my Houston teams  :D
What gives?  Why would you even think that the local talent from Sour Lake, Nome, China, Silsbee, Kountze, etc. would be in anyway competitive with talent from Houston?  It's all about numbers - Houston has them and Southeast Texas doesn't - duh!  So why do you claim Houston teams as yours when your boys play for a Beaumont school - seems somewhat hypocritical.
I don't think its numbers at all. Basketball is a skill sport. It depends on your genes and the time you put into it. If numbers were the case, WB would be dominating this area in basketball. If numbers were the case, HJ should be getting smacked by area schools. I still have property in Houston-pay HISD taxes. So they're still my team ;)
If we use your "genes" and "dedication" theory, there are still more to choose from who have the right genes and the proper dedication in Houston. HJ has a basketball culture that contributes materially to whatever level of success that they happen to achieve.  If that culture were present at Westbrook, I suspect they would be a one of the premier teams in the area.
 15. Can't those kids transfer to Yates?
 16.

For sure.  If you won 2 close games, there is no evidence that you didn't win 2 close games.
Clarification: there is no evidence -- besides sentiment -- that the losers of those 2 games are better than the team that beat them.
No doubt about that.  As stated earlier, this is true about all games, wouldnt you agree?
 17. For sure.  If you won 2 close games, there is no evidence that you didn't win 2 close games.
 18.
HJ simply lost to a better team last week.  LV is just a better team than HJ this yr. There is no evidence to the contrary, only sentiment.
Same applies to ALL games played at the HJ Xmas tourney
 19.
Not knowing anything about the flow and the attitude of the game, I say we need this ref in our area.  I saw too many times this year: STARE-DOWNS, throat slashes, spoon feeding?, etc.  There is no place in SPORTS for this type of showboating or taunting.  Hold kids accountable!!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
 20. You are busted, Dove.  Its on the LCM vs HJ thread where you basically said you were delaying the prediction by one year.
 21. Poppabear has already provided the proof of that prediction.  Would you like to see it again?
