Hj will be lucky to win 50% of their games this year even though all pre district games will be against 1-a opponents. -
NEVER UNDER-ESTIMATE THE HEART OF A CHAMPION. I suspect those comments are cage rattlers as opposed to asnine statements. Bet you won't get a bite from the HJ staff.
You are right and it is killing them. -
1. It is in 3-A 2. Jack Yates is in 3-A 3. HJ enrollment will maintain 3-A status 4. Jack Yates' enrollment dropped to 3-A status 5. HJ doesn't have enough balls 6. Jack Yates have plenty of balls 7. The road to Austin goes thru [s]Houston[/s] Jack Yates Senior High
Why do you say "for several more years"? Sounds permanent to me. -
Take my word for it- The vaunted "system" is going to undergoing some undesired changes.
Nash, you said it! I didn't
It's no big deal. It was common knowledge last year so why not go ahead and get it out in the open before the season arrives. In that way, you and Badsanta will be forced to come up with some other reasons that HJ is no good. (even though you have already seen the future)

But WO-S will be back in the heat of things.
Am looking forward to next year. Gonna play 15 different 1-a schools before the district begins as a means to get ready for that third playoff spot.

Saw the future. Ain't no way HJ beating Ozen this year "
Trying to get off topic again Nash? HJ will need to increase their budget to buy more balls. Ain't enough to shoot around in the game ;D
I have a very strong feeling that with the appropriate sideline management, that will not be an issue since it never has been in the past. But you did make a good suggestion. I just ordered 50 more balls to make sure there is sufficient inventory. Will order another 50 as soon as the German exchange student commits.

No doubt you are making this assumption based upon Ozen winning without the presence of the little dove? Are you sure that HJ had most of its people there?
I better stay mum for right now. COACH English let me in the tournament for $5.00. :o
Excuse me Dove, but $5 is NOTyour fair share. You should have paid $50 so they can let the less fortunate in for nothing. We need to make sure everyone plays by the same rules and that things are "fair". You are not sufficiently sharing in the sacrifice.

I know that he could still "wind up" at a DI, but it will have to be after 1-2 years at a JUCO. I guess we need Steve to clarify if he meant that his bet was for Shawn to get the DI scholly out of high school and not juco.
One would think an "insider" like yourself would know a lot more about this situation....
and one would think the father of the coach of this player would know more about the situation before laying 3-1 odds that this player was going straight to DI out of high school. ;) My post was just to simply throw egg in the face of Nash. There is no hidden agenda in regards to Shawn. I am very happy for him and would be even happier had he been able to sign a DI scholarship out of high school. I firmly believe that he will get that DI scholly eventually. Nothing wrong with taking the JUCO route. Shawn will do well at the next level and it is a testament to his skill, work ethic and the coaching he has received.
It's interesting that "those who knew better" did not take advantage of my 3 to 1 odds offer, especially those who consider themselves professional gamblers. But, then again, perhaps my offer, at the time, was not as tempting as it is in retrospect. [img][Hidden Content]]
Steve, My point was not directed at, or in any way, on a knock on Shawn. Everyone knows Shawn has been at HJ. I was simply referencing a "discussion" Dove and I have had on this board a few times regarding the reasons behind kids transferring schools within Southeast Texas.
Gotcha- Thx
