Yes you do have more rings playing Deweyville, Warren, and Hardin. Are those 2A rings made out candy or plastic?
Take a look at the year we won 3A:-) when our only losses were to Memorial and Houston Milby... and Nash is right we don't play those teams in Austin ... also didn't we beat the last state tournament team y'all had? Actually we beat y'all twice that year:-)
Not many teams in the state that can look down upon the accomplishments of Kountze in basketball. -

Numbers (percentages) don't lie, look them up them for yourself and then answer your own question.
Actually they can be very misleading...BISD has been a Recognized District....So, again...WHY HJISD?
I have a couple of questions for you, Dicky. 1. Are you saying that he should have gone to Westbrook or Ozen because that is what YOU think is right? 2. If you are so troubled about this, are you ready to go on this board and lecture the Dove about his two kids transferring to Ozen? My guess is that their drive to school is longer than Johnsons. In either case, it looks pretty silly to try to justify multiple transfers every year at one school by comparing them to one in seven years at another.
Neither does Yates...But they could say you guys stole a kid from Central, although that would not be the truth either. He just showed up...right?
So Mr. Wise does not coach AAU ball? I beg to differ. FYI- The Central kid NEVER had a SINGLE word of conversation with anyone from the HJ staff prior to attending the school. Furthermore, you are trying in vain to make a case out of 1 kid over a 6 or 7 year period vs substantial numbers of kids during the same time frame.
Larger city nash... ::) ::)...you know better than that...If HJ were in a larger place, the numbers would be very similar.
No they would not. HJ does not actively recruit transfers via AAU coaching
You get my point though....The better your program is, the more likely a kid will just show up at your school. Be honest with yourselves...Its not just at Yates.
Believe what you wish, Dickie. If the average "show up" rate at a group of schools is, as an example, 5 and one particular school continually maintains a "show up" rate of three or four times that, then something is likely "unique" about that one.

Or even Nome, or China? And once again there is NOTHIING wrong if its not, I am just asking...You guys want to give Yates HS program a hard time for having kids that transfer there (without coercion), but if you guys look at this objectively, it happens in most places where there are good basketball programs. Its not accident that Silsbee got a kid from out of town..It speaks for their program, and its nothing wrong with that.
Wow - now you have to be living in the district at the time of birth????? That deserves a big - Come on man!
It's what you do when everything else has failed.

The frequency and volume are what troubles many. The Kimball incident was not coincidental and you won't convince a lot of people that these types of situations don't take place at Yates as well.
To my knowledge I only know of one transfer to HJ (Johnson this past season) over the past several years. Don't know where anyone is getting this "multiple" transfers to HJ to play basketball.
Only in Dickies mind. It's a liberal tactic.
Why is there less of a "risk" in outlying areas....Don't answer that, because I already know the answer..and its certainly not always true...I am not sure about EVERY kid that has landed there, but I know of a few...Its not coincidental, by no means that they happen to be pretty decent ball players either....No crime in that..just what it is..
Lets get honest, Dickie, You dont know about ANY OTHER transfer because you ONLY know one that happened to be a good player. In recent years, there have not been any but you arent willing to admit that on this board. Therefore you DONT KNOW of a FEW, but rather ONE, and to suggest/imply the situation is similar to YATES is an absolute joke. As for the risk, I was speaking of perceived risk and that perception lies in the eyes of each individual thus making it not possible for me to answer for them.

thank you- had read that in the paper last week and was trying to find it- FACTS, Dickie, FACTS That "you would say" options? Sorry, that is ONLY your opinion and there are thousands of opinions out there that are as valid or more valid than yours. HJ gets kids OFTEN? Name three over the last 6 years. And you might as well face it- there is a public perception (regardless of its accuracy) that attending an outlying school has less risk of physical danger for a student.

I can only think of one in the last several years-so it is not a regular, every day happening as it is in other places. Some people find the thought appealing that their child will get a good education and is not likely to have a knife pulled on them during school hours. As for "the great metropolis of Sour Lake"- it was many years ago but I selected that area SPECIFICALLY for the school system and living style for my family and I could have moved anywhere that I wanted. Your mistake is in assuming that everyone has the same values as you do or that you know better than everyone else where everyone should want to live and for what reasons.
do you think he is a point guard like drose and cp3 that can change a franchise? Would he still be up there if he didnt have stars around him?
He understands the game well enough that he would be valuable wherever he went. At this point, he is the biggest star on his team. Showed stats last night where you combined points, rebounds and assists and he was leading the playoffs with Kobe and LeBron close behind.

Kountze vs Silsbee Alltime Head to Head
Yes, Silsbee beat Kountze by a total of 84 points over the last 3 match ups!
Why didnt you just state that to begin with rather than using the ploy above? -
The situation at Kimball was CLEARLY orchestrated..Kids that transfer to Yates are not set up by summer coaches...A lot like the way HJ gets their "move ins", right?
Nope- not right at all- You can attempt to portray Yates as "clean as the wind driven snow" all you want- Most everyone here knows what takes place and throwing an innuendo at HJ will not change the Yates situation one iota. Hj hasnt gotten as many transfers in the last ten years as Yates gets in a semester and you can't change that either.
-
Yes, I know the story and Keith Frazier moved to Kimball for athletic purposes...Had he sat out a season, playing JV, they could have done nothing about it, but he did not...So, tell me Nash...you mean to tell me that HJ does NOT get transfers? ::)
Every once in a while but they are not "orchestrated".
-
Of course, this type of circumstance NEVER happens in Houston, right Dickie?
