  1. Will be everything But Easy, IMO BH may have the overall better team, but with Nederland getting the 1 gamer and home field, that just evened things up.  Brown is a give me starter for Nederland, just wonder who BH will throw Thames or Long ?  Long had a great game last year , one of the best pithcer duals of the year last season with him and Brown.
  2. Very smart move by Nederlands coach, BH IMO would take 2 of 3 because of depth. I hate 1 game series and think they should do away with it and have always felt that way.  Going to be a good game, I really think Brown is one of the top pitchers around and that BH has not faced a pithcer as good this year, but also think Brown has not faced a line-up like BH this year.  Will be a different game from last year.  Last year BH had 3 or 4 sticks in the line-up and when he shut those down BH could not get it going. This year everyone in the line-up can hit this year and not relying on 3 or 4 kids. BH has played great as a team with everyone doing something in a game to help.  Will be a good one and a tough game for both teams. I bet only 5 hits combined in the game and the team that makes less errors wins. 2-1 BH
  3. WOW,
So much for having any advantage for winning district when you have a 4th place team that wins with 1 pitcher and you get 1 game instead of best of 3 and they get home field.  This should be the toughest 1st round for any 1st place team.  Nederland coach needs to go and buy a Lotto ticket tonight.
  4. I'm sure both were great pitchers, I stated the best performance I had seen and I never saw the other 2 throw in a high school game.  Brown in game 2 last year vs BH and Long on the mound for the Hill was a great pitchers dual, I think 28 or 29 Ks combined,  Brown got the win and controlled the game from the 1st pitch.
  5. GCM with wins over #2 BH, #4 Santa Fe, and #5 Kingwood Park and being undefeated in district and BH with wins over Klein Collins, PNG(twice), Clear Springs, HCA , Spring and a 8-1 district record , show why they are ranked 1 and 2.  Over all 19-4A is not that strong, but does have two of the top teams in the area 4A in it.  GCM has won 5 of the last 6 meetings, hope BH can even the series 1-1 this year on Monday. Should be a fun game to watch.
  6. BH playing one of the toughest 5A schedules as of now, to be 7-5 at this point is pretty good.  Winning all but 2 games going into the 5th inning, they need to learn to finish the game. Will say they don't have the depth to go 5 games in 3 days,  but not many teams do.  Don't look at just records, look at the schedule.  PNG and BH play their 2nd game of the year at PNG Monday night. BH won the 1st game this past Friday 4-2, it was a good game.
  7. Not sure about STJFL, but most teams have a board for their team in their  league. You would think a board member from PA would have the answer. If the STJFL did not notify PA of any issues of why they were voted out or would be voted out, that is not good. Sad for the kids, its about the kids, and should have a rep to see what can be done to keep them in the league. I know some teams were dropped from my kids league, because dues were not paid or teams always breaking rules, or the distance was just too much for other teams and got to be a problem with travel. Not saying this is what happen but would think some kind of notice would had been given and a reason would be given to the parents and kids.  Heard BMT Bulls were dropped from TIFI as well.
  8. Caleb Randolph of Crosby, TX  plays for West Texas A&M University, NCAA D2, was named 1st team Lone Star Conference and 2nd team Super Region 4 team this year. Had 5 ints and 52 tackles .  Not D1, but pretty good to get honors at any level of college play. He is a Sr DB, don't know how good he was in HS, but doing well in college.
  9. I coached in TIFI for 13 years and can tell you it is not the best talent that is out there, some teams are stacked and some can't chew gum and walk.  It is the luck of the draw. In TIFI it is the first 25 kids to sign up and if  kids are not good, well thats what you get for 4 years.  Now If you recruit (against rules) and start practicing 4 months prior to the season (against rules) you can dominate over the average talent in the league.  I won 3 Super Bowls and been to 4.  Not saying I broke the rules, but you can piece a team together by getting who you want in line early.    Look, these are 9 year olds, and just from what I have seen a lot these kids will not even be playing in High School and Just because your great at 8, does not mean you will be a stud at 16, all kids develope different and at different times.  I had a kid that played guard for me, he is now a 3 time all-dist fullback, and my Linebacker is a all-dist QB, my RB which had 78 TDs in 4 years, is not even playing football, he got a baseball scholarship.  Let them have fun, they are just little kids, sounds like both organizations are great and remember it is about the kids.  There will be plenty of time to see what area has the talent when they get to school ball. FYI, it is against TIFI rules, I tried this when I was younger (before somebody pointed out to me what this is about) It is easy to get caught up in being the best, I know, I was there.  Soph. Bulls looked great in the Super Bowl, congrats
