  1. Congrats to Barbers Hill 8th A team for winning district.  This group won it in 7th grade as well and have a 2 year record of 15-1. Had a 2 point defeat with 7 players out in one game with injuries( impact players).  Almost everyone healthy for the last game vs Dayton, and won 50-27 to take the title again.    A great group coming up.
  2. Anyone have stats on Townley?  8 TDs last week with 390 plus yards, wondering what kind of  numbers he put up this week.  Have not seen him play this year, but he sure has some good numbers. Does anyone know what schools are recruiting him? Good kid.
  3. BH 7A  Undefeated BH 8A, is 13-0 group of kids have never lost since starting Jr high.  Though after this week they have 7 starters out because of injuries.  When team is 100% they beat most teams by 30, now it will be a struggle to keep winning with all of the injuries. Losing a TE, 3 Rbs, 1 lineman, 2 Lbs hurts and all but two injuries did not happen on the field.
  4. Barbers Hill 7A - 22 Gentry 7A- 6 BH 7A 2-0 Barbers Hill 8A- 12 Gentry(Baytown) 8A- 8 8th A team Group of BH kids have not lost yet in Jr high play 10-0, though wins getting tougher. BH losing 8-6 with 3 seconds left in game and BH scored on a 45 yard pass play to win with 0 time left 12-8.
  5. Does anyone know how many other BH team has made it 4 deep and what year.  I thought the 07 team made Regional finals in the 4th or 5th round, but dont know the number of rounds that regional finals were back then. Hard to find any history on BH.
  6.   Barbers Hill is playing great, defense has been awesome, bats need to stay steady.  With 4 teams making the play-offs in each district and having 6 rounds before the State tournament, makes it tough.  As  Brenham passing the torch,  all teams have a long way too go before anyone can touch what Brenham has done over the last 25 years, it is amazing when you look at the number of wins and championships they have, to have a down year and make it 3 deep, most teams don't make it that far with the best teams that have come through their school.  Brenham will be back at the top next year again.  I dont see any team left with the pitching depth of BH or a defense like BH, if they can keep the sticks awake and stay steady at the plate they have a great chance of winning Region III.  BH has been fun to watch, just a lot of good players coming together and doing what it takes to win. Great all around TEAM..
  7. What is Magnolia's season record ?  Does anyone know what happen to Jared Green a Arkansas committ? have not heard anything about him this season, he was suppose to be Magnolia's stud, maybe he plays for Magnolia West, but thought it was Magnolia.
  8. Bad thing about a 1 gamer is depth of talent does not matter, last year Nederland had more depth and if it would have been a one gamer last year BH would had advanced, but in a series the better over-all team won.  BH won game 1 last year at Lamar.    IMO with being a 1 gamer at Nederland it evened things up and there is no underdog in this one. BH has to come out and play solid. 2-1 BH, but would take 1-0 BH, Just win.
  9. Will be everything But Easy, IMO BH may have the overall better team, but with Nederland getting the 1 gamer and home field, that just evened things up.  Brown is a give me starter for Nederland, just wonder who BH will throw Thames or Long ?  Long had a great game last year , one of the best pithcer duals of the year last season with him and Brown.
  10. Very smart move by Nederlands coach, BH IMO would take 2 of 3 because of depth. I hate 1 game series and think they should do away with it and have always felt that way.  Going to be a good game, I really think Brown is one of the top pitchers around and that BH has not faced a pithcer as good this year, but also think Brown has not faced a line-up like BH this year.  Will be a different game from last year.  Last year BH had 3 or 4 sticks in the line-up and when he shut those down BH could not get it going. This year everyone in the line-up can hit this year and not relying on 3 or 4 kids. BH has played great as a team with everyone doing something in a game to help.  Will be a good one and a tough game for both teams. I bet only 5 hits combined in the game and the team that makes less errors wins. 2-1 BH
  11. WOW, So much for having any advantage for winning district when you have a 4th place team that wins with 1 pitcher and you get 1 game instead of best of 3 and they get home field.  This should be the toughest 1st round for any 1st place team.  Nederland coach needs to go and buy a Lotto ticket tonight.
  12. I'm sure both were great pitchers, I stated the best performance I had seen and I never saw the other 2 throw in a high school game.  Brown in game 2 last year vs BH and Long on the mound for the Hill was a great pitchers dual, I think 28 or 29 Ks combined,  Brown got the win and controlled the game from the 1st pitch.
  13. Kid can flat out pitch, will always remember the outing he had last year in game 2 in the playoffs vs BH.  Best HS performance I have seen by a pitcher.
  14. H5AB is just a greater Houston web site and has the top 10 poll of Houston Area schools, the poll does not hold any water as far as the state poll goes.  The poll guy  may not have crossed the Trinity River, but BH did cross it to beat #1 ranked PNG on this web site for the second time this year.
