So my more serious take is that BH hasn't seen anything close to the running attack that Manvel has.

Crosby at full strength full of belief in self before coaches/teachers losing their jobs needed 5 fumbles to beat Manvel on a last-second play. Manvel was the better team when we beat them, They'd beat us right now even if we were full strength and in some ways, we caught Manvel before they ironed everything out.

Their best running back had to sit out a quarter with an injury, their QB couldn't hit the broad side of a barn that night.

I thought it then but pride kept me from saying it. Crosby was very fortunate to pull out that Manvel game even with our Star QB.

Now I just think Fort Bend Marshall is the second best team in the entire state (minus Aledo.) and will end up handling Manvel again of the teams I saw play this year Manvel is in a class alone, we just had a fortunate outcome.

No shame in this post just a very honest take. Manvel is extremely big and athletic. That one RB must be 220+ and can fly for a kid that size.  I also think if they end up winning and playing Marshall that will be an extremely high scoring game. I just think like you Marshall will be just to much.

I still say Crosby beat Manvel, so Manvel is just not the same Manvel we knew the past few years. BH did beat Crosby, so BH has a totally legit shot at beating this less strong Manvel.

This isn't the Manvel of old but they are still very good. I was at the game and Crosby played about as good as they could possible play while Manvel just kept on coughing up the football. I'm thinking Manvel had well over 600 yds offense that night even with all the fumbles. I believe Manvel tripled them up on penalties and Crosby was +4 on turnovers. Having said all this Manvel still wins this game by 21+ unless Manvel coughs the ball up 5 or 6 times. Pulling for the Hill though.

Manvel/willowridge is played today. I’ll be in attendance. Loser of this game will get the number 3 seed likely. And will play number 2 seed in our district. I expect Manvel to win this one.

Marshall already beat Manvel. They should get the 4th seed from our district and Manvel will get 3rd seed. I would be shocked if Marshall doesn't  beet Willowridge by 28+

Does anyone want to talk about this game? Please tell me all I need to know about the Ganders.

Lee's QB is not very tall but is really good. Kid can fly and has a great arm with a couple really nice receivers.Their roster said they only had 9 seniors so they look very young but definitely not a team to take lightly. Defensively not that scary but they seem to be a little weak on the run which should really help Vidor. I have Vidor this year but next year Lee will make the playoffs. Book it.

Exactly my point. Why not raise your expectations this year by rolling out an offense that can bring you farther than a couple of rounds in the playoffs.

Didn't realize the game went like that. Just saw the end score. But if this was the case then it sounds to me like Manvel may not be the Manvel from last year but they are still star contenders. Great programs have depth and the next man up isn't always a downgrade.

You are right they are not the Manvel from last year but they are the biggest most athletic team I have seen in person this year. Marshall is the one that's scary. They beat Manvel basically running the wildcat waiting for their transfer QB to be approved by the UIL. The kids name is Malik Hornsbery and is the #1 dual threat QB for 2020 and can absolutely fly and has a big arm. Kids also about 6"2. I'm going to be watching them the first round whoever they catch from our district.

Crosby beat them, and likely will finish as the 5th pace team. Manvel is not Manvel anymore.

I was at the game and you are right Manvel lost their head coach who is the qb coach at Syracuse now and 18 starters. But if they played Crosby 10 times Crosby would win that 1 game. Manvel turned the ball over I believe 4 times and had a ton of costly penalties and still had over 600 yds offense. Crosby had 0 turnovers and I believe only 3 penalties. Nobody from this district will even play Manvel or Marshall close unless they play an absolutely perfect game and Manvel or Marshall just fall apart.

It looks like Barbers Hill still has plenty of money to pay coaches and everyone else . Maybe they can get some D1 transfer and make The Hill the MECCA  in this district!!!

I think BH actually has some excellent talent. Their wide out was big and extremely athletic. Probably the best receiver I have seen this year. RB was big fast and much like the MECCA I think BH has a great opportunity at getting to the second round.

Dang so Dayton is winless and all y’all can come up with is to throw the qb under the bus for a soph smh. Aj was not the problem that’lets get that straight first. The soph should be getting himself together during the spring and offseason. You don’t do ya srs like that, wit 2 games left.

Please show me one comment where any kid has been thrown under the bus including the Nail kid which I think has done a good job and played hard every time I have seen him play. I don't think it's throwing a kid under the bus to say that a team that's 0-8 should get the kid that will be your QB next year snaps the last couple games. Also if you think I'm saying or anybody in this town is saying it's this kids fault or any kids fault you are seriously mistaken. Anyway I hope the team finds a way to get at least one W these next two weeks.

I know what you are saying but then again tank has 2 years left and nail has 2 games left in high school and this broncos football team means everything to him. It would be wrong to not let him get every snap he can the last 2 weeks.

That's called daddy ball and playing favorites. I'm sure there are a lot of kids on the side lines that love this team and see little playing time. That's just not how you continue to get better and build a program. Look until Dayton learns how to block and play something that resembles defense you better have a QB that can run and extend plays. Try and  keep that defense off the field. Take away the Galena Park game and Dayton is giving up over 40 a game but that's a whole other story. Any way GO Broncos and cheers for trying something different.

It makes a difference when you have 2 extra blockers. Without pike and orebo out there for tank it would have been different. Not knocking on tank because I can’t wait to see what he does next year. But nail is a heck of a qb and has been having to run for his life all season because as soon as the ball is snapped he has 2 defenders on him because he doesn’t have the blocking we had back in the day. But everyone has their own opinions and I respect urs. But wanted to make my opinion known also. Besides that something has to give with the coaching yes. Tank put 7 more on the board but when ur down 31-7 you don’t put ur running game on display you gotta do something to catch up even if that means taking a receiver out to give ur q.b some protection.

I think Nail has done a fine job. I'm not saying don't play him at all but Tank is the future at QB at Dayton. He needs snaps the next 2 weeks. The kid had 230 yds receiving and 3 tds against Crosby and has been getting better every week.  In high school most teams put their best offensive athlete at QB because he will touch the ball every snap. If you are building for the future he is it.

So what about that talk a couple years back of Dayton JV when they reached varsity level they would dominate this district?

    SMH

I have never bought into JV meaning much of anything. You will always need some kids that mature and can make a difference their senior year but most of your studs play varsity from their sophomore season on up. I think a good freshman team is a much better indicator of what is coming up.

  12. 20 minutes ago, Daytonfan9210 said:

Yeah he is a great athlete. By notice something he had that nail didn’t? Protection.

No he has something called speed and vision. If he can throw at all it changes up everything the opposing defense has to do. It's a huge difference when a kid doesn't have to hold a block but for a second and the play is by him. I think Nail is a nice QB but Tank is a sophomore and most definitely has a much bigger upside not to mention he will be here 2 more years not 2 more games.

I got the radio set up in the bathroom and just ate a huge helping of Taco Bell! If everything lines up I will be letting it go right as the Bronco’s take the field :) Go Ganders!

So you specifically ate Taco Bell so you could take a dump when the Broncos hit the field. I'm sure your wife and kids will be proud. That's seriously troubling. Commited but troubling.
