Kountze didn’t make playoffs because of match ups and having no size advantage. One freshman , one junior who played JV last year. The tall sophomore underperformed IMO. Still a baby giraffe. I look forward to next season. Not saying because Sells had no help. He had a little help, biggest was from the newcomer.

Remember it’s an individual award. So he goes from one of top 3 during season , to now he’s not because of no playoffs . He is still in top 3 . And yes, in playoffs is what he would have wanted.

They were tied for 4th. And lost in the playin. And Kountze was the only team that beat EC in district, on a Sells shot. Most on here agree Sells was in the top 3 best players. Coaches must have agreed.

I hope you’re being sarcastic. Or you just don’t know Joub. He ain’t that guy. Courts does a lot for Kountze just like Scales. Courts was the other player for Kountze that averaged double digits. No one else made 2nd team for them. Difference I saw, Scales is on a team with multiple talented teammates and senior heavy. Perhaps he was over looked , good thing is he has 3 more years for awards. I figured Sells would get a top award just wasn’t sure which one.

Sells got MVP and #10 Courts got Newcomer from Kountze. I’ve been to almost every Kountze game. The are deserving. Courts was the other leading scorer most games. MVP could have gone to Ragusa or Sells , IMO. Defensive MVP was from Anahuac, also well deserved.

Each coach gets a vote, but can’t vote on his own player.
