(we gave up under 150yds to them) Lamar is alot better than Spring.  Lamar Consolidated, is about even with Crosby.  Huntsville is alot better than Jones. Brenham S.O.S- 262 Montgomery S.O.S- 279 Harder S.O.S & better defensive #'s...

7:22 and i'm just getting up, but i'm here to give you what information I can. I think #4 was Ford, but I could be wrong.  They have a descent LB. (i think his name is something Brooks)   As for how we did against them, our offense didn't look good at all that game. (probably cuz it was the first game and we were trying new things out) Now our defense, shut them down.  They couldn't pass, and the little success they did have was on runs and draws.  Their QB (Hazelwood) seemed very nervous and made bad decisions while being blitzed.  Seemed like he was easily rattled.  They look better now, but i'm pretty sure we could beat them by more than 28 if we played them again.  They arnt as good as they have been in the last couple of years.  They really miss Gilbert, and it shows.  Hope this helps.

[/quote] If you want to compare defenses, lets look at a common opponent, waller. Brenham's defense allowed 194 rushing yards and 10 points. Montgomery's defense allowed only 72 rushing yards and 7 points. Now to call the defense "absolutely horrible at best", is quite laffable and ill-founded. Stats don't lie. Montgomery's defense is right below Brenham's in quality, while Montgomery's offense is right above theirs. Brenham can't grind out a win over Montgomery because of the Bears' ability to run and stop the run. [/quote] All in all, Brenham gives up 3.6 ppg 97 ypg.  Montgomery gives up alot more.  We pass better, but they run better.  This is the game that you can't miss.  We shut Waller down by the way, other than the 2nd quarter.  I just think Brenham has a slight edge.  I say Brenham kicks a late FG to make the final 24-14 Brenham.

Ya, y'all can count me in.  I hope that were the only undefeated team left in 17-4A by Saturday morning though.  I can enjoy my trip to the Butch alot more knowing that! Lol.  ;) I guess I need to leave early, cuz I havn't been to Beaumont since I was 12.  All I know is 290 to 610 to I-10 East...  clueless after that. Biaplayer, as for your 30, I sure hope y'all pass it.  I've been to 3 PNG games and never have I seen PNG break 30. (I'm ready for some Cherokee ;D ) Defense needs to step up, or 30 might not be enough... Lol  ::)(I'm sure y'all will win this one though)

[/quote] Those ranked teams like, Aledo, Brenham, LT & Tivy, have all played 5A teams too.  Difference is, that we beat them and y'all didn't.  We wouldn't be ranked either with 3 loses.  (nobody would). Dayton sounds like they are doing alot better though, so don't worry about rankings.

I'd give a slight edge to the Montgomery defense.  Montgomery has shown that they have a good defense.  Green is good, maybe not on Dobbins level, but good enough to make you respect the run.  Green had trouble with fumbles last year, but has only one this year.  Brenham will run to set up the pass. *Montgomery D vs Brenham passing- Brenham... Montgomery is ok against the pass, but Brenham's passing game is above average.  Schlottmann isn't the fastest guy, but is somewhat effect when he needs to scramble.  His arm is more than capable of throwing threw tight windows, if he stays calm.  Even with pressure on him, he's good at throwing on the run, and if you've seen the Brenham WR's, you know that they are excellent at running routes and going up and getting the ball at it's highest point. *Special Teams- Brenham... Edwards averages like 22yds, per punt return, and that really helps with field position.  The kick off team features Edwards and Green, which definantly doesn't hurt Brenham.  Brenham's kicker has the leg to take advantage of good field position.  He has been first team all district, since he was a sophomore.  He usually puts the ball threw the end zone on kickoffs too. Brenham wins by 3-10 points.  I'm thinking 27-17 or 24-14.
