Montgomery 14 Waller 7 Final
BrenhamFan replied to BrenhamFan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think the Montgomery staff planned to use Dobbins this way to test his injury. His speed and cuts looked good but he had problems gripping the ball with his hand (had it taped up). Bolfing is going to have one sore leg all week. Personally I think this was the best thing to happen to them, they needed a close game to keep them focused instead of a easy win.
Dobbins and Bolfing will be facing probably the best defense they will see all year. When your 2 Best players are both coming off injuries, the last thing you want to see is Malcolm Brown and company coming after you. The close game might have been a good thing for them, but that isn't. -
Montgomery 14 Waller 7 Final
I went to the game- Dobbins played about half the time and still not 100% (hand). The QB Bolfing got hurt in 1st quarter with a big hit /thigh bruise (limping most of the game) and was never able to get going. Waller D played good but Dobbins broke some big runs and then was pulled out? They won't beat Brenham the way they played tonight with 2 turnovers. They will have to be at their best game to win, but you never know thats why they play the game.
It will be a good one... That's for sure. -
So I make a simple comment like the REZ is for real. I start my day and take a mid-morning break to check in on the boards. My negative karma doubled overnight. How awesome is that? Those PNG fans are touchy. So, who does the hill play this friday? Predictions?
Lol. They got me too Tyrone. -8 karma overnight... ::)

It's 8:44 and were on page 30.... & yes, the hill is still for real! :D
-
Friendswood and LaMarque play this week.
-
Were not quite in the area, but we only give up 4.4 ppg and 116 yds.

Come on now... Nothing says football like Katy Perry! lol :D

:o :D They both might have a victory over Crosby by the end of year. If that happens, your obligated to give Crosby one too...
Crash, Crunch, Smash, Bang, Boom, Squill, Squeek, and getting thumped by 19-4A in playoffs. Shall I go on? ;D
Well you still have not actually made a point beyond an indirect statement that seems to show unfounded homer confidence in district 19-4A. Dayton likely rolls in Bi-district but the other 3 will probably bow out in round one. As an nuetral observer of these two districts I'd say 20-4A looks like the stronger by nearly any objective criteria. 19-4A has, by my estimate 1 legit contender (Dayton) where 20-4A has two (Beaumont Central and Livingston) with a possible third I am not yet sold on (LCM). In 5 head-to-head games this year 204A holds a 4-1 edge on 194A. In closing, since this all really appears to be nothing more than an attempt to distract from the epic crow feast by trying to bait the mid-county fans into a discussion in which you could try to hop on the Dayton coattails. Therefore, I leave you with this thought: The hill is NOT for real.
:o Say it isn't so... :D
In the biggest upset of the weekend, Elkins knocked out Hightower 45-33 in 23-5A play. QB Jake Burkhalter had a stellar game, completing 20 of 26 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns.- Tell me Dayton can't hang with the big boy's - ;)
Ya but Dayton lost to both. ;)
This should be for all intents and purposes, a total whitewash. If the Cub Defense allows a touchdown, I'd be disappointed. But Montgomery is a different story. I'm actually a little concerned about Dobbins this year. If you watched Brenham vs. Waller, in the first half the Cubs had a lot of problems stopping the Waller QB once he got around that outside corner. Could it be that Brenham just wasn't ready for the wishbone? Possibly. This is probably the best defense we've ever had. They are averaging 4.4 points per game. But if Dobbins gets to the outside, I am not sold that Brenham can stop him. Either way, this will be one heck of a game.
Against Waller, it was the QB not HB, and I wouldn't call giving up only one TD a problem. It will take a split second more cuz Dobbins has to take the handoff, and he won't be under center where he can take off. The coaches also said they take alot of the blame for the 10 points given up in the 2nd quarter, due to the fact the Waller hadn't done what we had seen on film and planned for. Fortunatly, we see that offense alot, so we knew what to do. We just needed to regroup at halftime, and the coaching staff did an excellent job of making sure we did just that. Your right about Montgomery and Dobbins, and they worry me too. I'm sure it will be a good game, and we'll give up more points than we usually do, but our defense is just too stout to lose this one. To beat us, I think they will need atleast 4 TD's and I don't that will happen. I could be wrong, that's just how I feel about it. Our offense has been improving every week too, and it being a home game doesn't hurt.

It's not as much fun playing a team when their star player is hurt. It will be a great game, i'm sure. (like last year) Are you gonna make the trip to Brenham for it? If so, get here early.... Small stadium, that only seats 6,000 + a game between 2 of the best 4A teams in the state = packed stadium. We already have to use 1/3 of the visitors side to fit all of our fans, and another 1/3 for the visiting band.
Brenham Fan, Looking for some info on a young man that stepped into the O-line for the Cubs when the starter went down this past Friday. Josh Miller. Heard he played big...got details?
He played a great game and definatly held his own Friday. You can't ask for much more than what he provided. I was impressed. Adrian Bellard's knee injury has been diagnosed as a mild, grade 1 strain. He's questionable against Spring Woods, so Miller will probably start. Bellard could play, but I doubt he will, considering Montgomery's next, and they will prolly use this as an extra week to recover. I don't know much about Miller though.

Victory formation. It's the most effective way to go. Who cares what the other fans think, as long as your team gets the win.

Good teams will beat us 3 rounds into the palyoffs if we are still turning the ball over. But yes, We are all around solid and probably will not loose in District.
Correction* It would be round 2, not round 3.
You might be in for a surprise and find yourself on the bad side of 2 out of 3. But by all means.....keep talking.
I'm just saying that the round 2 game, would likely be harder than the round 3 game for either team. (not that were gonna dominate or anything) I will keep talking though, but i'm waiting till I see name Dayton next to ours in the playoff bracket.
You keep forgetting that you guys are going to go on a losing streak and end up on the other side of the bracket...How many times do I have to tell you this?
It's possible...
