LCM pulls off upset of the season. They score twice. Ned 48..LCM 12....
Now that is a cold shot...

Vidor 3-1 (1-1):
O: The line is big, mean and agile. The backs don't have blazing speed, but hit the holes hard and are downhill runners. Need to keep the ball off the ground. Passing game is getting better, just needs a bit more tweaking. Less fumbling, I would give an 8, until then 6.
Def: Hard hitting, decent size and flies to the football. Have a lot of heart! 8
Team as a whole: Their never say die gives them an edge, they don't seem to do the hill and valley emotion that a lot of other teams I have seen in the past have had. They play with a lot of pride. I believe "tough as a 2 dollar steak" described it the best.

The one thing that puzzles me is, why isn't Jefferson leading the district in receiving yds. At 6'7", he's always in an advantage on cornerbacks.
Because he runs lazy butt routes......
Ozen needs to run, and run, and run this week to work on conditioning. That and tackling drills....
tackling drills would definitely be beneficial to ozen
We could use some of them also... we had a heck of a time wrapping up "The Truck" last week, and against Central also... Need to quit going for the highlight hit and wrap em up and wait for help..... team tackling will be the only way to keep Ozen in front of us... too many missed one on ones and this one could get ugly for us fast... Also some double sided tape in the RB's palms wouldn't be a bad idea...
-
I don't have a dog, wildcat, or eagle in this race but from Coach Barbay's history even though his Eagles are "struggling" out of the gate by the time week 10 gets here they will be moving like a well oiled machine.... No pick just my thoughts.

I believe that win loose or draw, this game will help get some normalcy back in High Island. I wish both teams the best, and to the citizens of High Island and beach area my prayers go out to you. Good luck High Island.

I just can't wait to hear what the experts like Band of Brothers, ITS all _about_the_U, Raiderfan87, and RaiderPride09 have to say. I mean they had such insightful predictions and comments before the game, surely they have plenty to say now. And there are many other football "experts" from Lumberton that I am leaving out but the list just seems to be too long to get everyone in. Come on guys speak up. We are dying to hear your expert analysis of the whipping your boys took last night.
yea no joke!!!
I'm waitin on my apology from its all about the u, because i told him vidor would run all over them and he said he would admit it if they did, so I'm waitin its all about the u :-)
Vidor is a good team not sure if they are a playoff team. As far as running all over Lumberton, what game did you watch? Lumberton handled the Pirates in the first half. Lumberton comes out in the second half the at least three of their best players on the sidelines to various reasons. Vidor scored only when Beard was out of the game (all of the 3Q and most of the 4th).
I will be convinced Vidor is good playoff team when they go thru mid-county with some wins!
For 1 thing Vidor shot itself in the foot in the first half... if you were at the game then you remember Vidor fumbling on Lumberton's 8 the score at that time was 3-0... Lumberton came out physical on first drive ( ask #23 ) but only came up with a field goal.... Your kicker does have an awesome leg. I can not say that Lumberton dominated Vidor in the first half. As far as the 3 players on the sidelines it must of been the hard hitting that Vidor was dishing out in the first half.... and continued with in the 2nd half... Why was Beard out "(all of the 3Q and most of the 4th)."? Did he have homework to do? Have a migraine? or was it that he was getting the stuffing knocked out of him by the Vidor O Line? And if your whole defense hinges on the play of 3 men, then Lumberton has bigger problems then your acknowledging. I do hope that Coach C can get Mr. Hanna and his temper under control because that is 1 heck of a RB!!
First of all, I would like to say congrats to the Vidor football team and the Vidor coaches for a well deserved win. They earned it as much as I hate to say it. The Raiders were pretty much handling them in the first half but Vidor came out in the second half and played with a lot of intensity & physicality and the Raiders didn't seem to be up for the challenge to finish out what they had started. Once Vidor got the momentum at home it went down hill fast. I will say this though...I do still believe that the Raiders have the better team. Vidor won fair & square and I'm not going to make any excuses for why Lumberton lost. Vidor was the better team Sat. night. They wanted it more. But I still think Lumberton is a better overall football team. If they played 10 times, I think Lumberton would win more. Second...notice I said congrats to the Vidor FOOTBALL TEAM & Vidor COACHES... I do not owe anyone any apologies as I gave my opinion on the game and whether it ended up being right or wrong, I owe no one apologies. All that matters is that I give the Pirates props for winning the game. I will admit that I said I didn't think Vidor would win by 2-3 td's. They ended up winning by 2 so I'll admit that they proved me wrong on that. However, I never said Vidor couldn't or wouldn't win the game. I never gave a prediction if U go back and look at my posts. I said I thought Lumberton was the better team before the game and I still stand by that. I'm not going to go into the rushing yards because Vidor racked up many of those with a major piece of the Raider D out for a long time...so I'
m not even going to go there. Coach cHomeaux, I can assure U that the player you're referring to did not get the stuffing knocked out of him. As a matter of fact he was doing the knocking. I'm sure if U were watching the game closely U would have seen him decleating an individual close to the Vidor side as he was blocking during one of the Raider td runs that was called back before half-time. The reason he was out had nothing to do with anyone on the Vidor side. I can assure U that. Cramps! I'm sure it is easy for U to sit behind your computer screen and run your mouth about certain HS players whenever U don't have to say it to their face. I'm sure your tone would be different if you weren't hiding behind your pc...Coach! Not very professional behavior if you're really a coach.
All I can say is you see it your way and I see it my way. I do not know why you take this as a personal attack. I complimented the team, Coach C and Mr. Hanna. and you say I am running my mouth?? I guess your right. I was seen Hanna run over 1 of our players and he was out til after half time... as I have said before and probably will say it again that man runs like a truck... but I am just running my mouth again so I will leave it alone. Have a nice day U.

Neither. Excuses or pointless. Vidor and Nederland WON! Period. If a fan/player has to blame the refs or turnovers, etc., then the team obviously failed somewhere. In other words, fight to get into a position to where a few bad calls don't mean squat. I listened to Kirbyville play the other night and there seemed to be a couple of bad calls but when you're up by 30, that really doesn't amount to much. As for injured players and (as a Raider fan), I will say now that things may have been different last year had Dayton's QB not been injured. Unfortunately, for him, he was and the Raiders took advantage of it (not that the backup was a slacker by any means). But, that one loss didn't stop Dayton from making it deep into the playoffs just as one loss won't stop the Raiders from moving forward. This game is played every week. As for Raider players that may have been injured during the game and had to leave. That just tells me that Vidor played tough. Any argument about injuries etc., is like a boxer saying "I would have won if he hadn't knocked me out in the 5th round".
This is a good post LR. Especially like the last sentence.

Pirates by 2 scores. Y'all(Vidor) need to find a soccer player for Friday nights. If you were at the Vidor-Lumberton game, you know what I mean...
we have one hes on the sideline he is #5 he is on our varsity soccer team the coaches haven't given him a chance yet because he decided to play later after the season had started i think the coaches should give him a chance to prove himself. we need to find someone soon because all of those missed pats can comeback to haunt us
If I am not mistaken, the young man that is doing the kicking now is a Sophomore, from what I have seen he can kick the stuffing out of the ball.... just don't know where it is going to land... he tried a 37 ydr early against Central and hooked it, but kicked it long enough to hit the top of the scoreboard right above PIRATES.... It is like shooting a scatter gun you know your going to hit something, just not exactly sure what.. I am sure he will get better... patience is a virtue..
And I will take Vidor by 10.
Vidor 23
Ozen 13

Prayers and thoughts sent to you and your family. Sorry for you loss.

Two programs with similar kids and good coaching staffs....I was not there but it sounds like the game was exactly what is should have been....a good one that came down to playing hard, keeping your cool, and being lucky on injuries. If you talk pre-game smack you have to be willing to eat some crow . The Vidor fans are laying it on thick but if the tables were turned it probally would be the same way.Just my oppion.
Have to say probably the best observation I have seen posted here yet.

ozen 7 vidor 0 at the half
final score ozen 7 vidor 34
That does seem to be our pattern...

Sounds good. Dayton your right. I should probably just not read the boards for awhile but I'm board.
is that a 2 x 4 board? or a 2 x 6 board? mmmm I think I will go watch TV i am bored. just picking at you WTB dont blow a gasket :-D

Beard was crampping up pretty bad. I saw him tightin up and go to the ground. Your handle says coach on it doesnt it? And your dogging highschool kids.... pretty sorry
See what you don't understand that the sarcasm wasn't to the play of young man on the field it was towards the fellow who was trying to make an excuse. So if I in anyway underminded the 3 players I apologize and that was not my intention.

I know J Hanna very well he plays with everything he has. 90% of the time this is a great thing 10% of the time he makes the bad mistakes like yelling or talking to the Refs. I would take J Hanna to start a team anytime. Before we start talking bad about ONE young man lets remember that there was a few Vidor players that were making hand waves towards the Raiders fans. I can understand this and don't have a bad feeling towards these young men because I understand it was emotion I love seeing emotion, its Football not Ping-pong.
I do believe that wasn't to the crowd that was back to Hanna who had done that our sideline after being tackled on one of his runs. The guy runs like a truck, and plays with a lot of emotion. But you still have to keep your composure and not get those PFs on you.... It hurts the teams morale more than it does loosing the yards... His first personal foul was from when a Vidor player was trying to help him up after a tackle and he got up and shoved him...

haha lmao!!!was the previos poster that i quoted a 1 hit wonder?
not even one hit
sorry now it makes your post seem a little odd ;D
I quoted the invisible man :-)
You need to quit talking to the invisible man... the fellows in the white coats will track you down....

CONGRATS VIDOR, NO EXCUSES, YOU PUT IT TO US. WE WERE OUTPLAYED IN THE SECOND HALF. GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE WAY.
You have class Raid07. I think if #24 can keep his head in the game the Raiders do not give up as easy in the 2nd half, they looked totally deflated half way through the 3rd qtr. It looked like they were out of gas, heads hung down.... I hope #6 is ok he took one heck of a hit across the middle from the SS...
he was hit by #21 Jake Travis the FS
my bad, I stand corrected...

It was all me. Dont know what I did when updating our website.
hahaha the gremlins must be out in full force then....

Gabe wrote it..
hahaha now now lets not start pointing fingers....

Second half---- Not that it matters but you asked so let me help you.
Crew Marlow starting LB out
Anthony Beard starting LB out most of the 2nd half
J Hanna played second half banged up he even sat out some of first with a few knicks
This is one reason Vidor ran much better in 2nd half, I am not saying that they might not have done this with these 3 def. players in but you asked so I tried to help!
I do hope these young men are back on the gridiron next weekend... That Vidor O line is something to be reckoned with. #53 Moose Burns is 1 heck of a pulling guard! I seen him take out the OLBs more than once on the sweep and bootleg pass. I do think the whole Vidor team must of tightened their chinstraps a bit tighter in the 2nd half whether these 3 young men were on the field are not the blue and red was getting the stuffing's knocked from them.....

Nice article coop.... But I didn't think you needed to post it 2 times in the same post.... :-D
