Not sure of the dimensions, but I have always liked the field at Evadale. The big green monster in left field, and it's always in great shape.

GSF traveled to Baton Rouge to play the Baton Rouge Home School Eagles. The GSF Hornets won 22 - 4, with Junior Conner Stevens getting the win. He pitched four plus strong innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 5. The Hornets play at home Thursday against Bethel Baptist - Jennings at Silsbee LL, with a start time of 5.

Great job Eagles. Coach Ratcliff is working hard up there. They have great facilities, host a top-notch tourney and it's nice to see them having some success. Keep it rolling!

Tidbits helps me with my A-D-D. A capsule of the week in one place; great stuff.

GSF won a hard fought battle 12 - 11. GSF took an early lead but fell flat, eventually falling behind 10 - 2. GSF stormed back with 2 outs in the 5th, scoring 8 runs to tie it 10 - 10. Luke Lozoya, a junior, hit a bases clearing triple and stole home to set the Hornets up for the win. Daniel Bean, an 8th grader came in to close out the last two innings and get the victory. Great job Hornets on a hard fought victory to go 8 - 5 overall, and 3 - 0 in conference.

Good Samaritan Fellowship Hornets will host Harvest Time Christian Academy today at 3:30. GSF plays their home games at Silsbee LL, and we encourage everyone to come out and watch the game. GSF plays in ACEL, a league out of Louisiana that caters to home-school and small Christian private schools. GSF is currently 7 - 5 overall, and 2 - 0 in conference.
-
Good Samaritan Fellowship played their first home game tonight against the Acadiana Commandoes. Acadiana is from Lafayette, Louisiana and was a conference foe. Jake Eason hit the first home run of the season. Senior Matthew Moore got the win, going 5+ strong innings. Daniel Bean closed it out for the Hornets on the mound. GSF won the game 13 - 9 to move to 2 - 0 in conference play, and 7 - 5 for the season. GSF plays against Harvest Time Christian Academy tomorrow at Silsbee LL at 3:30 in another conference contest.
-
Jake Eason, GSF (Good Samaritan Fellowship), Sophomore, Homerun #1

Was that Jordan Johnson, the freshman? Jordan is a spectacular player, and a great hitter.
-
GSF won their conference opener in Baton Rouge against the Riverdale Christian Academy 20 - 4. The Hornets play two home games, Friday at 5, and Saturday at 3:30 to close out the week.
-
GSF went 3 and 1 in the tourney. They beat Apple Springs, lost to Big Sandy, and won a double-header on Saturday against Burkeville and Faith Training. Excellent job Hornets. We got to play one extra game because Silsbee Sophomore team ran out of pitching. Puts the Hornets at 4 and 3 for the season.
-
GSF 6 - Apple Springs 3.
Big Sandy beat High Island
Brookeland beat Silsbee JV
Not sure on SWLA vs Burkeville (early game), and
Newton vs. FTCA (late game) -
I figured as much, just was going off the schedule they sent us. It just said Silsbee. It sure makes more sense.
-
Should be great weather for the Newton Tourney starting tomorrow. Teams participating are:
> Newton Eagles
> Silsbee Tigers
> Big Sandy Wildcats
> Burkeville Mustangs
> High Island Cardinals
> Brookeland Wildcats
> Faith Training Christian Academy Patriots (Leesville, La),
> Southwest Louisiana Home-School Knight (Lake Charles, La), and
> Good Samaritan Fellowship Hornets.
Tourney is straight round robin, with each team playing 3 games in 3 days. -
Thanks a bunch.

Does anyone have the bracket to post? My nephews play for Deweyville, and I'd like to make a game.....provided it doesn't get rained out. This rain has got to stop.

The girls are about to get on the loop around Fred, Texas and head toward Leesville. Best of luck tonight, and a prayer for safe travel there and back.

There's a loop aound Fred, Texas ? ??? ???

If you take the subway from Spurger you shouldn't miss it. You just have to watch Fred Metro traffic units up on the loop, they don't play around. They are not as laid back as the Spurger Subway Transit Authority. -
Lady Hornets lose tonight 56 - 14. Coach Bean did a fantastic job with them this year, and they have improved greatly. Congratulations to junior, Autumn Brinkley for making the second team all-state team. At 6' tall, she has been a great leader this year, and should be a force next year.
2013 Homeruns......
