  1. 6 MAN

    Chester (1-2)  68  F
    Tomball Chr. (1-1)    34

Congratulations to Chester on their first 6-Man win.  I was talking to one of the coaches last week and they were saying that it has been an adjustment.  They are learning along with the players, and were starting to get some of the boys back.  They played last week with 9 players, and were commenting on how tough it was on them from a conditioning standpoint.  I'm excited for them, and hope this is the first of many.  Throckmorton is supposed to be pretty stout, and is a top-ten team, and that is who is on the horizon.
  2. My A-D-D kicked in after the first paragraph.  Great post with a lot of practical thoughts, but I also agree with the other posters.  You simply will not find volunteers to come out and give the dedication it takes to complete a season, and for the pay they will receive.  I too am hardest on my son, but I feel I tend to go the other way and try to be overly cognizant of the fact there are other kids on the team.  I stress that I am out there to coach the team, not my son.  He (my son) will have to earn anything he gets.  Looking at the stats at the end of the year, I do believe he did.
  3. Congratulations to Coach Dearing, the staff, and all the players for winning the District 32 Major title.  It was an exciting game, and came down to a play at the plate, with 2 outs for Bridge City to take a 4-3 win in the last half of the last inning.  Best of luck in sectionals, and again, congratulations on a great year so far.  Keep it going.
  4. Congratulations to the Texas Extreme for winning the 11 AA Governor Games.  The runner-ups, the GTB Gunslingers had the best showing of their season.  We (Gunslingers) went 3 and 2 and beat the number 1 seed of the tournament.  The boys brought their bats and actually showed that they know how to use them.  I just hate that they waited until the last part of the season to start showing up.  Best of luck to all teams as they push to the different world series.

I wonder if someone posted something about the Hutto Hippos vs the Winters Blizzards if someone would get on and say...."Hey, what about the Rebels, I think they could have taken both of them."  Best of luck 'Jackets, and I wish I could be there Saturday.

Man, I had positive karma til that post, I mean it was like +8/-4, until that.  I have watched and know there are two unwritten rules on here, 1) Never say anything negative about WO-S football, and 2) Never say anything negative about Evadale baseball.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow, maybe I'll get back to above .500 someday.  Go get 'em in Lufkin Saturday Chester.
  6. Didn't you have a coach who was real excited about the baseball season, had done a bunch of work on the field and you fired him right before the season?  This was a young man with great moral character, very knowledgeable of the game, and excited about growing a program.  The young man had played all four years in college, and sure seemed like a perfect fit for your school.  This coach went out and found a grant to purchase items for the field, getting a wind screen for the outfield fence, and several loads of dirt.  I'm just curious and would like to know if there are some problems with the program before someone would consider making a donation.
