Excellent job Prospects! Great young team, with lots of skill. Three tourney championships in a row is not easy.
-
Great job 'Jackets. That keeps us in the hunt for the playoffs. Great job responding to a tough district by a young team.
-
Great job 'Jackets! Keep playing hard, and improving.
-
Sounds like a great game. Who is taking charge of district this year? From reading the posts it appears there might be a log jam at the top, and definitely a dogfight for the playoffs.
-
This should really be a great game to watch.
-
From reading most of the posts, it looks like the Warriors are going to be a player in their district this season. Good luck Warriors and keep up the good work.
-
Bummer....sounds like it was a pretty good game. Hang in there 'Jackets, lots of season left.

Great job, way to go 'Jackets! Hopefully we can get on a little roll now.
-
I wonder who they will go after, or who will show interest? It would be nice to get a recognizable name, Capel was just let go at OU. I wish the old coach best of luck, but it was long past time for a change.

Man, Chester sure drew the short straw in this tourney. Best of luck to all teams.

Excellent point! It is truly amazing how early, and how often these young guys start throwing pitches that will hurt their arms. I would specifically tell my pitchers "NO CURVEBALLS!" You can't control them at their house, but when they are playing for you, it is your responsibility. I personally don't think they should even attempt them until mid-way through high school. Learn to place your fastball, and learn a change up, and leave the curveballs until your arm matures.

Glad to see the lions win.. gotta take it one step at a time... Chester isn't the best team around and we only scored 3... im sure the sticks will get goin

Congratulations to Kountze on the opening day win. However, Chester is always a salty team, and pretty decent year in and year out. Coach Young has a rebuilding job to do, and hey a 3 - 1 loss is manageable. Keep building 'Jackets and we'll be just fine. -
I still say we will be fine. Coach Young is an excellent coach, and we always have scrappy kids.
-
I know it's a pain, and i've done it before, but you could always form your own team. The season hasn't really started yet, and you would have a lot of work. However, you could always throw that line out there and see what you could pull in. Just an idea, and I hope you can find a team.

Excellent post, and I love the positive talk. I support my team, and I support small schools....but dang some of these strings get sort of sporty. Best of luck to all....I'm just happy we are back to baseball season.
-
Chester will be just fine. They have a great new coach who knows his stuff, and if they have to build from scratch then that's what they'll do. Who knows how things will play out, but I like our chances. Injuries are always a factor, and I hope everyone can stay healthy.

Playoffs and the super-bowl are weeks away. College football is gone except for the senior game, and the blue-grey game. I'm not much of a basketball fan.
-
We are about to lose football, and the cold weather will be here for a few more months, but I'm ready to get these boys out on the field. We had our first outside practice last Saturday and it was beautiful. I'm ready to start playing tourneys, and I know my son keeps asking me how long before we play. Come on early spring, get here soon.
-
Good luck this year Burkevile. The start of a new season is always exciting, and full of hope and a clean slate.

Coach Mark Young of the fighting Chester Yellowjackets. Looking forward to big things from him and the program.

CardinalBlood.......ummmmm, my son played for the STJFL Sr super-bowl champs. We weren't whooped. I was more or less picking at RB, who was one of the coaches of our team, and a friend of mine. Now if you're talking about my Chester Yellow-Jackets, they were in their first year of six-man football, and it will take a while to get up to speed.
