If I'm Gilligan, I would be PISSED if they built a New football stadium before a NEW Vincent-Beck. Outside of golf, which does not have a "stadium", what team has done more at Lamar over the last 15 years than the baseball team????
-
Landry. He hurt his knee in the Dayton game and did not practice Monday. However, he was back at practice today. But I don't know if he'll be 100%. I hope so!!!
-
Nederland has lost two of it's starting LBs and they are moving the only starter left to MLB. So ALL three of Ned's LB will be at new position. Not good news for nederland.
-
I do believe that Hall can and will eventually start at the 3. I am just not sure he is 100% right now. That's why I left him off of my starting line-up.
I can see Brown starting instead of Nwevo. Man, Roc has a lot of tough decisions to make!!!!!
-
With the great play of Brown in the two scrim. games, I say you have to start him. But who do you put on the bench.
Before the scrim. games I would have said:
1- dawkins
2- hopkins
3- barrow/todd
4- sanders
5- nwevo
but would this work:
1- dawkins
2- hopkins
3- brown
4- sanders
5- nwevo
"Brown averaged 29.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg in the two scrimmages. He shot 67.6% (23-34) from the field, 55.5% (5-9) from 3-point range and 87.5 (7-8) from the free throw line. "
Can he play the 3????
Man, our bench is going to be DEEP!!!!!!!

Seeing tapes and actaully having to cover them are two totally different things!!!
-
This kind of thing happends all the times in polls!!! Texas City beat LaMarque and LM is still ahead of TC.
-
If a player gets ejected from a game, do they have to sit out the next game????
-
It's head-to-head first, then points!! The only reason a coin flip was used during the "Rita" year is because not every team in district played each other. No way to do head-to-head or points!!!
-
Now if we can just get all of those "loud" students at the GAMES, that would be such a big improvement as far as attendance and atmosphere is concerned.
-
I'm in!!! I remember playing in the 1st Pig Skin Prep flag football game many years ago at WOS.
-
Lamar's football team always had homegrown talent that did not get recruited anywhere else. That was the problem, they DID NOT GET RECRUITED ANYWHERE ELSE! If Lamar is to have a good team, they must WIN some of the recruiting wars for the BEST homegrown talent.
-
He impressed the coaches during 2 a days, but I think he was red-shirted.
-
Nederland did play a team like Lamar!!!! Called Brenham!!!! No wait, they played a team BETTER than LAMAR!!! Called Brenham!!!
-
Someone does not know much about HS footbal in this area ???
-
As James said earlier, you keep making predictions about Nederland and one day you will be right! The sad thing is when you are right, you will be the first one on here saying "I told you so". Why can't you come on here and do the opposite when your predictions about Nederland are wrong. Which is most of the time!!!

Here are Wallers total yards for the year:
Lamar Consolidated: 271
Bay City: 480
Nederland: 346

I was just kidding about Cooper being on the sideline, but I was not kidding about the 5A/4A poll.
-
These rankings are a joke!!! I'm a huge Nederland fan, and no way should they be #1 in this poll. And Lumberton at #5 is even worse. Dayton and LCM will kill Lumberton. West Brook is by far superior to all of the teams in the top 10.
I think the reason WOS is still #1 is because Cooper is on their sideline ever game.
-
From what I was told, Ozen still has a long way to go on offense, but the defense is on point. 2 defensive TD's for Ozen.
Sounds like the Nederland-Waller game. But I'm sure SFA85 will tell me i'm wrong and Ozen is much better than Ned.
-
I know WB deserves to be in the top ten, but are they included in this poll beause they play in a "houston area" district. Dayton is in because they are considered "houston area", but why no Central or Nederland. I think they are not included because they are not "houston area" and don't play in a "houston area" district. I am I wrong here?

Just saw on tv where Kevin sustained a serious spinal injury in today's game. For those of you who don't know, he is a local kid from PA TJ. He plays TE for the Bills. Keep him and his family in your prayers.
Here is a clip from espn:
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Kevin Everett was in a hospital under observation for a cervical spinal injury after the Buffalo Bills tight end was knocked cold and taken off the field in an ambulance Sunday.
Coach Dick Jauron provided no further update on Everett's status following the Bills 15-14 season-opening loss to Denver. And Jauron wouldn't say whether the player regained consciousness on the field or en route to the hospital.
Everett fell immediately to the ground and showed no signs of consciousness after a helmet-to-helmet hit when he tackled Denver's Domenik Hixon during a kickoff to open the second half. Everett was placed on a backboard with his head and body immobilized, and carefully loaded into an ambulance at the Broncos 30.
The game was delayed for about 15 minutes, and the Bills gathered at the sideline while doctors attended to the player.
Everett's injury was the most severe, but far from the only one sustained by Bills players during the game.

Soccer and swinning have been made up of different football districts for many years now. Don't see a problem with it.

Sampere - Ned QB. He threw for 233 yds.and 2TDs. He ran for 40 yds. and 2 TDs. He only played 2 3/4 qrts. before getting hurt. Brenham had no answer for him in the 2nd and 3rd qtr.

Johnson is no longer attending Nederland HS. He already graduated and will enroll at UT this spring. So, I guess that ansewers the eligibility question.
