The ned-silsbee score was 2-2. Silsbee's lond TD pass was called back for holding.
Silsbee scored 1 TD with the 1st team in the controlled part on a long run. The other was also in the controlled part but by the second team. Nederland scored 1 TD with the 1st team in the controlled part and another one by the 1st team in the simulated quarter. Nederland pretty much shut down Silsbee's 1st team offense after the 1st set of controlled plays.

I think the offseason he was referring to was in the spring, when they were at school. I know of kids who quit after football season, miss spring offseason, then try to get back in when two-a-days start. Most coaches don't let them back on the team.
-
Let him go. He had a .239 batting average and a .905 FLD %.
-
My guess would be Llyod. He is from Cali.
-
It was Ryan Piltiere (the SS from Nederland). He is one of the hardest hitters i've EVER seen. IF there are any Dayton people that remember him, it's because he sent 2 players off on strechers on back to back plays. That was during the 2000 season.

Who won the SLC East Div this year??? NW State, right. And they lost all but one of their starters from the previous year (the year they won an NCAA game). Two years ago Lamar had 4 or 5 staters back and there was talk about how we would win the SLC hand down. What happened???? Again, I hope we win it all next year, but you can't just go by how many players you have coming back.
-
Why is 2nd or 3rd in the SLC an insult to Lamar??? When is the last time they finished 2nd or 3rd in ANY conference???? I would love for Lamar to win the SLC regular season, win the SLC conference tournament and then win a first rd. NCAA game. BUT, come on guys!!! Do some of you not remember ALL the pre-season hype last year???? Lamar finished the season with a losing record and was tied for the 5th best record in the SLC at 8-8.
Do I think they will be an improved team form last year. You bet!! But do I think they are a lock for winning the SLC, NO WAY!!! So, in my eyes, finishing 2nd or 3rd would be a good thing!!! An improvement!!!
-
I might be wrong , but I don't remember any strikeouts!!!!
-
Mosley, who had the games only RBI, makes a diving catch in centerfield with two outs to save the no-hitter.
-
The Montagne Center is GREAT!!! WAY better for basketball than Ford Park!!! It is one of the best basketball venues in the state of texas!!! Really!!!! How is it "out of date"????????

Well considering 90% of the time the TE is used as a blocker (at least in Nederland's offense) I tend to lump the TE in with the O-line. Besides, the point I was making is that 5 out of the 6 people blocking for Bass in the playoffs will NOT be there next year.
-
Sorry, I meant to say "2-YEAR starters". I went back and edited that.
Isbell, Molina, Daniels, Westbrook, and Biehle. That's 5!!!!! Huber is the ONLY O-lineman that will be back next year. If you're not counting the TE as an O-lineman, then sorry, it's only 4. But you get the idea.
-
Keep in mind that Bass was running behind THIS YEAR'S O-line. Next year will be a different story!!!! Replacing (5) 2-year starters on the O-line. I'm thinking that Nederland will have several of this year's 9th grade team on varsity and seeing playing time next year. Ned is very thin in their 10th and 11th grade classes.

I hear that GP has little to no fan support.
-
I know grades come out this Friday at NHS and I remember all the talk about losing players last time grades came out. Anybody hearing anything about maybe losing more players this time???? We are so thin at every position, if we do lose some, it might make this match-up with Lumberton more even. What do you think??
-
I do agree with you on one point. That '97 team with Sumerall was the team that turned the corner!!!! That team along with Sumerall's long TD run against Sweeny is, in my eyes, was the turning point for Nederland football.
-
If you relly think that he was the ONE Of THE FIRST exceptional athletes to come out of Nederland, then Nederland has only been around since 1997. Think about what you are saying. There have been many GREAT athletes come out of Nederland in the last 70 years!!!! Was he good, hell yeah. But not close to the FIRST!
-
Is it likely that Nederland will beat Dayton?? NO. Is it possible for Nederland to beat Dayton?? YES!!
Based on Nederland's D, they will have a hard time beating LCM, much less Dayton. But if the D comes to play then I can see Nederland possibly getting the wins.
-
No, if this happened, Dayton would have two L's. One to Central and one to Nederland.
-
The good thing about only be a fan, and not playing the game, is that you can look forward to any game you want and it has absolutely NO impact on the "next" game.
With all the talk of "who will finish third" on this message board and others, I just thought I should add a new perspective to the list. However, I know that it will be VERY tough for Nederland to win out. I'm not counting on it.
-
It could happen!!! If Nederland wins out and Dayton loses to Central, then Nederland would finish 2nd and Dayton 3rd.
-
Look out Vidor, you get to face another GREAT running back next week!!!!!
-
Nederland has the smallest line in the whole district!!! But man are they good!!!! They avg. 214 if you include the TE!!!!!
Mosely the leading rusher for UNT

Titan - what also makes running the football more difficult is running behind a OL where not a single one has played a college football game. Add to that the fact they were playing OU and I'm pleased with how Mosley did. By the way, the starting RB for UNT (Jamario Thomas)was the leading rusher in the nation a two years ago and he did not fare to well yesterday.
