Ok Spoonbill,  You must not have been to too many high school games.  The bands ALWAYS play while the opposing team is on offense.  ALWAYS!!!!!!  Some bands even play when their OWN TEAM  is on offense.  If this issue really bothers you so much, you need to pay more attention to when the bands are playing .  You will see just how wrong you are.  Go to the Band message board on this site and ask the question "Does your band play when the opposing team has the ball,?"  You will be surprised to see that all of them do!!!

You must be thinking about College games where they can only play in between plays or timeouts.

I believe they are talking about being the 2nd best def in district based on POINT ALLOWED.  Not about total yardage, where Nederland would probably be towards the bottom.  However, I would rather give up more yards than points any day.


Why take out the Central game?

Come on now Soulja,  at this point in the season ,preseason predictions don't mean jack!  Central is 3-0 in District and Nederland is 1-2.  Don't even try and play like the Jags are the underdogs.

Where should they have built it??  Easy access for ALL, right off of I-10.

I'm a Nederland fan and I can't see how predicting a 21 pt. WOS win is a sign of disrespect towards Nederland.  WOS won by 20 pts. last year.  I personally think this years game will be closer with Ned possibly winning, but would not be totally shocked if WOS won by the same margin as last year.

I went back and read my post and did not mean to say "recent" years.  More like 10 yrs. ago.

One of the best things about the infiled turf is that the players no longer have to worry about maintaining the field.  I know for a fact that in recent years players have been lost due to injury while working on the field.

No, not always.  If a team has a weak Sr. class there may be a bunch of Soph. on varsity.  Those soph. would have been the stud players on the JV, leaving a void on the JV team.
