Great showing by the Hawks. Proved a lot of people wrong tonight. Wasn’t the outcome HJ wanted but nothing to hang their heads about. Love the fight. 

Well, it’s that time of the year again so LET'S hear them.....  Remember, I am doing the same format as the previous years.  All homeruns mentioned are to be real game HR's NO scrimmages.  Please list: Players Name, Class, School, and number of HR's hit for that day (please use format of the example below).  I will keep the running total again.  Last year HR’s were up FINALLY.  So, was it, better hitting?  Or was it just a down year with the pitching?

 

2014 = 229 hr’s

2015 = 156 hr’s

2016 = 146 hr’s

2017 = 121 hr’s

2018 = 202 hr’s

Burbank started 2 innings then Salter and Breaux and then Varnado pitched 7th

they should have a midnight practice like they do in basketball to celebrate the lights. 

The lights for HJ’s baseball and softball fields arrived today. Excited for the kids and fans. Now the JV can play home games and varsity doesn’t have to start at 4:30. 

I do see a few SMDH's here, but these all district picks have been horrible for years now.  
But congrats to all the kids mentioned.  I will say this.  All the kids in this list did do their thing.  
Special shout out to Sells from Silsbee in the 1st team all district pick and Foster in 2nd team all district!

BS wins on a walkoff suicide

Jasper has been underestimated all season.  This is a Jasper team with a 30-5 record with those 5 loses coming to Sam Houston (2nd Ranked 5A team in LA), Acadiana (3rd ranked 5A team in LA), Kelly (TAPPS State Runner Up), Central Heights (Top Ranked 3A Team in TX), and Hudson (District rival, 14 inning game).  They played a very TOUGH schedule and beat quality team after quality team, yet never received the recognition they deserved.  Being the under dog is nothing new to these kids and they thrive in that role.  They have a team full of hard ball players, great coaches, and they all have grit in their teeth! 
Look at their stats:  .310 team batting average, 15 HRs, 262 Runs, THREE Pitchers with an ERA below 1.7 with a combined 27-2 record.
These kids will show up to play and it's gonna be one hell of a series!

This play is not a hard play to umpire,seen it 100's of times called right on every level on plays far closer than this.Why make excuses for 3 umpires who clearly were wrong. You watch for the tag first then look for runner touching base. The 2 umps that said runner scored before tag clearly were guessing,because plate was 15 feet away minimum from runner at point of tag out. 

I seen the video . The guy was definitely out before the run scored. Sad 4 umpires couldn’t get that call right.
