Jordan Ozen(Ozen) 17-29  415 yards  3 TD's Jakobi Jones(Ozen)  5 catches 190 yards  1TD,  95 yd KO return TD Nederland Defense- Washington 5 sacks, Couron 3 sacks WOS D- Shutout LCM Vidor D- Shutout Santa Fe
these are all outstanding, hard to single out one
 2. biaplayer, that's what I was thinking, this district race will be interesting. I think Vidor and Nederland will still be at the top, but Ozen, Central, PNG and Livingston will battle for 2 spots. I'm also shocked that LCM only lost 18-0 at WOS, they could hurt someones playoff chances. Also, I wouldn't count on finding a running game next week, WOS' s defense is all about attacking, next  week at the rez will be very interesting, I'm thinking about skipping the Ned-GCM game and going to watch PNG-WOS.
 3.
Wow 102 pts = no D
The score at the half was 45 - 28. Opening kick returned for Nederand TD, Crosby's 1st offensive play went for Td, 1st qtr score I believe was 28-14 crosby. Scoring slowed down after the 4 min halftime because both teams were exhausted from chasing each other, don't have the stats for either team but Ned's Austin Krautz had 5 td's on rushing and returning kicks, Crosby had no answer for the speed of Krautz, Nederland had no answer for anyone in red, fun to watch if you like offense
 4. Besides taking off on pass plays I thought they were going to have some designed running plays for Carson, but I guess it depends on how the offense moves the ball as to how much scrambling we see.
 5. I've heard this, but to this point they haven't showed. Kids fast and we have back ups, turn him loose.
 6. Right now it's a toss up in the top five, I'll give Memorial #1 at this point, after that it's Dayton#2, and then Nederland, Vidor and WOS tied at #3. I saw the WOS scrimmage, the Mustangs didn't dominate at all, Nederland didn't either but if these 2 played again, it's anyone's game. Any of these 3 could beat the other with the twist of one play, as in a 2 point conversion(wos last year) or a 4th down conversion (Vidor) and that's just how close it is. If they played 10 times I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't split 5-5.
 7.
It will be interesting to see what Crosby does on offense because they were about as plain vanilla as you can be in those 2 scrimmages. Nederland is the clear favorite because they are picked to run the table in 20-4A with 16 starters back. When was the last time someone actually beat Nederland at home?
wasn't that last year?
 8.
Hopefully the future Qb of the next two years will get to play. He looked great at last weeks scrimmage ;D
Usually the QB swapping is over when the real games start, unless there are issues with the starter.
 9. What about Seay, will he be ready for fridays game?
 10. I picked PNG 28-21 earlier, but I'm starting to feel like Silbee may pull this out at home.
 11. At Nederland you have to make that decision in the spring unless you just moved in, you can't skip camp fun and then decide to come out, you don't do make up work, you wait till next year.
 12. If enough PNG fans show up early and fill the visitors side, they could over flow to the home side before any of the Silsbee fans arrive. Wouldn't that be funny if Silsbee's fans showed up to find their home side half full of Purple.
 13. No NFL on tonight, but the CFL is on cable 77.
 14.

With size of PNG's band and drill teams you better get there early if you want a seat. Nice stadium in Silsbee but Visitors side is a little small for a PNG crowd.
I bet that PNG doesn't fill it up!!!!!!
That's not a good bet for you, sounds like there is going to be sold out, fast. If I was a PNG fan I would get to the field house early.

 16. Bad move by the coach. On the other hand I'm assuming that if you won the game you can protect your QB long enough for him to take a knee.
 17.
In my opinion Walker needs to be up on varsity rotating with Smith. Whoever moves the offense plays.
That didn't take long to come up. Seems like if Faircloth wanted to see Walker with the varsity tonight would have been the time to see it.
 18. I'm a Nederland fan as well, but if you think Vidor won't challenge for the district title you are wrong. We may have gone undefeated last year in district but that means nothing this year.
 19.

From an old PN-G alum/fan: 1. It's a scrimmage.  Get off the window ledges.  Plenty of things to see on film, evaluate, and learn.  Plenty of time to teach and get better.  Ned's DC Delbert Spell can teach. 2. As long as Delbert Spell is the DC at Nederland, the Bulldog defense will be just fine.  I've seen it turn out that way too many times.  D. Spell has done his part to chip away at the PN-G 48-33-7 series lead. 3. It's not where you start, it's where you finish.  Pass judgment in Week 10, not week 0. When PN-G travels to Texas City, I want all of the Indians' weaknesses to be exposed and all the ugly to come out and show itself on offense, defense, and the kicking game.  We have plenty of time to evaluate, learn, teach, and get better.  It's not where you start, it's where you finish. Go Indians.  Peace.
Well put by a PNG fan that's being a realist. Nederland key will be to see the OL three weeks from now. I also see the backup RB Burton runs harder behind the OL then the starter. He clearly has the longest run plays in both scrimmages. Nederland may want to put the starter back at FB and let Burton carry the rock 20 times a games. Just a thought
That's Barton with an "A", he is a sophmore and I agree he may do better at TB rather than FB, I would like to see him get some carries (15-20) and see how he does, at this point what do you have to lose. Hopkins showed flashes last year but its been a slow start so far, not just for Hopkins but the entire offense, running and passing. If we cant run the ball our QB and WR's are going to have pick it up big time.
 20. Mathews is changing the culture and expectations in Vidor. I knew Coach Mathews from when my son played and had the pleasure of meeting him a few times at some of the 7 on 7 events and he is a great guy who really enjoys the kids.  I know it's early, but Vidor has probably become the front runner to win district at this moment, they still have to beat the Mid-County teams to get there but, they have the schedule to do it this year. They have to travel to Beaumont twice but have key games with Nederland, PNG and Livingston at home, this could be the year Vidor takes center stage and if it happens I'll be happy for Vidor and Coach Mathews, I'm still hoping they finish 2nd behind Nederland, but right now it looks like the district title goes through VIDOR.
 21. Nederland's biggest problem right now is the offensive line, they gotta get that problem solved quick. The second issue is depth, if we have a couple of injuries we could be in big trouble. Third issue is RB, smaller backs with average speed and an offensive line that's not  getting it done means no running game. If we can solve these issues and stay healthy we will be tough, if we don't we will be in for a fight for a playoff spot.
 22.

What happen to that freshman beast qb last yr?
The ''Beast"" is playing safety......
So he's not going to get a chance to play qb?
not unless something happens to force the issue, but that beast would rather play defense and hit people than play QB. After Carson is gone you could have 3 or 4 battling in the off season for the starting spot and all are very capable. I thought Carson threw the ball well and I think he will have a good year. Our offensive line is always a work in progress the first few weeks, but it always comes together.
 23.
Okay back on topic. The pups aren't very good and WOS proved that tonight
Nederland will be fine, and the only thing wos proved tonight was that they also will be a force on the field this year with a fast defense that gets off the ball and gets after you.
