1.
I watched CE King play last week against Crosby.  They are VERY fast and much faster than Dayton.  They are however, very small. If we kick the ball to them and we don't contain their QB and runing back, well, it will be off to the races.  I don't know of anyone on our team that can run with them.  Ball control for BH is going to be required to win this one.  This game is likely for the 3rd spot in district. The 4th goes to the loser. 1st Dayton 2nd BH 3rd Crosby 4th King
Where does GP fit in that prediction?
 2.

I can't remember in recent history when a Bronco team had 5 interception in one game and that was against a quality GP team against BH we had two or three and last night one or two.  Me personally I'm very impressed with our pass defense this year. Last year when we played Brenham I thought we would be over matched ,but when the game started it was obvious that we were just as good if not better than they were and I think this year will be the same its just a shame both teams have to meet up early.  Over all and with the kicking game we bring to the table I believe this years Bronco's is poised for another deep run no matter who gets in the way ! GO BRONCO'S ~
I agree the pass defense looks better than in the past years. The DBs are playing the ball not just following the receivers around the field. The only thing is the front three have to get more penetration and pressure on the QB. Even in the GP game the QB had to much time to throw the ball. The D made an adjustment at half time and started putting some pressure sendind a LB at times. The teams that throw the ball leave alot of time on the clock and if you can control the game on the ground when you have a lead you can keep the other offense limited.
I think that the secondary has improved quite a bit.  As the year progresses and they get better and better, I think it will allow the the defensive front a little more time to disrupt the passer.  I think that the crosby game will be very telling.  But first, I want to see the team shutout GCM and North Forest.  I really do think that this team is one of Dayton's better teams as a whole.  I know that we don't have any all-americans on the team this year, but I will take 22 hard nosed players that never give up over a "superstar" any day.  Keep working guys.
 3.
I was stating that because the comment was made about Dayton being the best team east of Houston.  Just commenting that El Campo looks legit this year.  (even if they arnt east)
They played us pretty tough last year.  Ricebirds I think.  They were a scrappy team the last time I saw them play.
 4. Actually, I'm hoping that both teams are undefeated at the time of your appointed demise.  That will make it way more fun to send you guys packing back down 90 with your cougar tails tucked between your legs.
 5. If the district season ended now, the real hill would make the playoffs.  How much longer until the pressure cooker game vs CE KING?

 7. I parked on the wrong side of the stadium and sat in the stands with the gander fans.  Talk about some frustrated fans.  I don't want to get into some of the things I heard, but if you are going to be as negative as the group sitting behind, there is no need to do it so loudly. My impression:  Ton of positives for the broncos.  Lee had some good players, just a poor system.  One thing I did notice was that the bronco offensive line got pushed around a bit at the beginning of the game.  When entering any physical conflict the means to victory is overwhelming violence of action.  Basically the battle in the trenches is always won by the unit that is meanest and smartest.  I'd like to see the line develop more of a nasty streak.  (I did like seeing #55 blocking 30 yards downfield on a run play, way to keep looking for someone to hit.) GAME HIGHLIGHT: There was a little kid, about 5 or 6 years old, sitting a few rows in front of me.  The broncos beat lee so soundly that he was actually crying and kept saying, "they're bullies mommy, they're bullies".  I thought, no little kid, they're not bullies....they're winners!  Good job guys, way to make a little kid cry.
 8. Here are some stats for Dayton in their three district appearances(chron.com): The Broncos are averaging 55 points per game on offense and allowing 7.7 ppg (2 shut outs). OFFENSE: The team averages 415 yards per game, 187 rushing and 227 through the air.  Herrera has completed almost 80% of his passes so far (39/51).  DEFENSE: The team allows 187 yards per game, 75 rushing and 107 passing.  Opposing teams completion percentage is approximately 43%.  The defense is averaging 3 interceptions per game. And forces an average of 4 fumbles per game. Special Teams: Juan Carranco The team averages 2.7  punts per game that average around 40 yards per punt. PAT: 19 of 20 (BH blocked one) Field Goals:  3/3 at 29, 37, and 40 yards. The team is now 3-3 and no longer has a losing record. So, what do you think?  What areas would you like to see improved upon? Don't shoot me if some of the stats are wrong, the chronicle is not always the most reliable source. Also remember that the stats are for DISTRICT GAMES ONLY.

Remember Who's the 194a Defending Champion  :)
We will certainly remember what happened last year. (Payback is a bootch)  While we do that, remember what happened the last ten years!
 10. Almost time to dominate Houston traffic and head to the game.  Anybody pre-gaming in Baytown?
 11.

As far as the smack on this thread... It was started by a BH poster. Ask any student in Dayton HS of all the smack the BH students were throwing out before the football game, no different than the adults on this site (like father like son).  Even the BH coaches were talking smack before the game. Leave it to the Dayton Broncos to teach something that Barbers Hill needs a serious lesson in... HUMILITY! Humility is taught in the form of Dayton showing Barbers Hill who runs the town when it comes to the one sport that matters.  FOOTBALL. Pride in your school is great, and the kids from Barbers Hill excel at this (which is a good thing).  But when you start thinking that the world rotates around the Hill, that is when it gets overdone. As one of my Inspired Phrases states... WINNING PRODUCES CONFIDENCE AND LOSING PRODUCES CHARACTER.  A TRUE CHAMPION HAS BOTH CONFIDENCE AND CHARACTER. Everybody hates to lose a contest, but the lessons you learn from a loss may just in fact have more meaning in the long run.
You are correct at Dayton FOOTBALL is the only sports that matters.  I sure hope you are not a coach or teacher at Dayton and all the non playing football athletes read this. ;)
Please continue this argument after football season is complete.  FYI, Dayton Basketball could be a lot better, but the majority of the team is still playing football when district play begins each year.  I know that a lot of teams don't have this problem but it's reality in Dayton.  Can't really comment on the other sports because I don't buy tickets to go and watch them.  Yes, Dayton has room to improve in other sports, but, right now, it's football season.  If you don't like it, you might want to move up north where football isn't quite as popular. Also, I pull for the hill because it for real.
 12. Didn't realize it was in all caps...my bad.
 13.
Since this has turned into a Dayton vs BH trash talking thread I did some research on my three hour lunch break. Last year in district 19-4A  Dayton finished ahead of BH in:  Football BH finished ahead of Dayton in : Basketball Boys & Girls, Track B & G, Tennis (both seasons) B & G, Volleyball,  Softball, Baseball and Cross Country B & G and Golf B & G. I KNOW this is a Football site and you dont care and it shows with the rest of your programs when you compare them to the Hill So continue with this thread and lets try to get to 54 pages because this is all the Dayton fans have on BH and if the day ever comes that BH starts beating Dayton in football this site will be a ghost town of Dayton fans like the other sport sites. Dayton fans continue supporting your football team.    The Hill is For Real
GREAT IDEA...I WISH THAT I HAD THOUGHT OF IT.  WE CAN PUSH IT TO 54 AND LET TYRONE AND SMOKING BABY GET IT LOCKED AWAY FOR TAKING IT DOWN TO THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR.
 14.
Bring it on! But you guys getting pretty boring!
I think we are at the quantity over quality stage right now.  BUT this could change when BH handles business tonight and this thread gets some new life from BH fans.
 15. I think a bigger accomplishment would be for the defense to allow no points to be scored.  Go get em' broncos.
 16.
Will a responsible moderator please kill this thread!!!!!!!!!!!1
Why are you upset that the hill is for real?  You must be from one of the "other" districts on the other side of the Trinity. Now don't get upset that this super awesome thread keeps going and going and going and going and...........
 17. As a kid i ran track. i ran the mile and i pole vaulted. practice time comparison for you pole vault= 2 hours a week baseball= 25 hours a week. I was the best pole vaulter in the district too. Obviously a God given talent. didnt take to much practice time   You must be a big feller.
 18. Now, now, BH'ers, I'm not going on and on about how some of the members of the BH coaching staff talked some trash before the game only to get blown out and shut down.  Or how a handful of people dumped on the Dayton FB program because of early losses.  I'm not even talking about how a few of the BH posters on the boards ran their mouths before the game.  All I'm really trying to say is pretty simple....THE HILL IS FOR REAL.  Now if Big Blue has trouble with their own realness then maybe it's time for some counseling or daily affirmations or something.
 19.
Smoking baby is foaming at the mouth for the next game to come. Not at the game 2 weeks ago. As for the BHFAN, his computer hasn't crashed cause he has moved on and has been commenting on the North Forest game. Just like all of you should be doing instead of dwelling on the past.
No response for Tyrone? I think he kind of won your last interchange with the turtle comment.  Don't feel bad, that's a hard one to come back on.
 20. So, are these fearles predictions a new and improved version of the fearless predictions?
 21. It's 3 in the morning, I'm working graveyards and it's a fact....The Hill is for Real.  Don't forget to tighten up your jocks because BIG BLUE IS COMING TO TOWN.  :-*
;) ;D  I know what that is a synonym for... That maybe the answer, too!!!  Can't stand to see those "No-Disciplines" win!!!!
Are you saying that "no-discipline" is a synonym for not predominantly white?  If that's the case, then is the fact that central doesn't get equal respect as other programs an issue of race?   Okay, everyone can now acknowledge the elephant in the room.
IMHO, I think it has more to do with socio-economics than race.   However, there are examples (on these boards) where racism is hidden behind an interesting facade.  For example, when people talk about Angleton, they often mention superior athleticism and characterize them as undisciplined.  The same talk occurs when North Forest is discussed. This can be interpreted as more black kids than white kids.  This is sad, but unfortunately, it is a reality.
