There's an old coaching saying..........."If you can't win with this year's kids, start playing next year's kids."

I am sure there will be numerous misspelled words and grammatical errors, but they will have it in print.

Bill Dauterive got a reaction from 2wedge in Hardin v. Hempstead
Hardin (which is WEST of West Hardin, by the way) will be focused on February's realignment. Rumor has it that they have petitioned to be placed UP a classification, provided that they can compete in the JV division. UIL commissioners will debate prior to February's realignment, and should have an answer by late January.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the Hornets will board the bus (Football bus hopefully) and travel West to Hempstead in search of the elusive district win. A district win is almost as elusive as the albino Boone and Crockett buck that has been rumored to be stalking the river bottoms near Rye. Unlike a district win, at least someone has reported seeing the albino buck.
Off season plans are being honed, and you can bet your butt that the Hornets will improve in all areas of football. Off season should start for them next week, but will be postponed until after deer season. After that, however, it's on like a pot of neckbones. GO HORNETS!

Bill Dauterive got a reaction from RETIREDFAN1 in Hull-Daisetta vs Houston Westbury
HD is not playing Houston Westbury. Westbury is a 6A school. HD is playing Westbury Christian, a small private school. Big difference.

Bill Dauterive got a reaction from AthleticSupporter - Jock in Sports injuries
Let's not forget Al Bundy. The glory moment in Al Bundy's life: scoring four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire" Dixon. Years later he still limps from injuries of that game, but still manages to drag himself to Gary's Shoes each day and be the best Women's shoe sales man in history. And he does it all without whining.
Be like Al. Don't whine about old injuries.

Why do we have to know everything? Why not just trust that your AD has put some thought into all decisions that are made? It seems like we live in a society where we must know everything. Decisions like this should not have to be explained,

Of course they are expected to make the playoffs. There are only 5 teams in their district.

Bill Dauterive got a reaction from ThirdDay in 7 on 7 Tourney today in Baytown
7 on 7 today at Baytown Sterling,
Sterling went through their bracket undefeated, beating P.A. Memorial, Aldine McArthur, and Baytown Lee. They played LaPorte, who also went undefeated in their bracket, in the championship. LaPorte won the championship game 27-22.
Both teams looked pretty good.
