  1. Hardin (which is WEST of West Hardin, by the way) will be focused on February's realignment. Rumor has it that they have petitioned to be placed UP a classification, provided that they can compete in the JV division. UIL commissioners will debate prior to February's realignment, and should have an answer by late January.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the Hornets will board the bus (Football bus hopefully) and travel West to Hempstead in search of the elusive district win. A district win is almost as elusive as the albino Boone and Crockett buck that has been rumored to be stalking the river bottoms near Rye. Unlike a district win, at least someone has reported seeing the albino buck.

Off season plans are being honed, and you can bet your butt that the Hornets will improve in all areas of football. Off season should start for them next week, but will be postponed until after deer season. After that, however, it's on like a pot of neckbones. GO HORNETS!

All I can say is I was there in 1979 state run by the Bobcats truly magical the way they beat way bigger and faster teams. Troup probably the best team they beat.

...............and they have only won 3 playoffs games since this magical season..............THREE.........in 38 years. That equates to one playoff win every 16 years.

If a team is a Wing-T/Run Oriented offense then they aren't going to all of the sudden start passing during the season anyway.

And like I said...7 on 7 will not prepare you for when people can actually tackle.  Or when you have to make quick decisions on a pass because you're depending on 5 lineman to block.  "Practicing" in a situation when you can sit back and quarterback...relaxed...not worried about being blind sided by a blitzing linebacker is a lot different than actually taking a snap and then spending the next 3-4 seconds running for your life just hoping to get rid of the ball before getting a concussion.

7 on 7 is pointless.  It's really no different than playing "2 below" in the back yard with 8 neighbor kids.

Except that you and 8 neighbor kids cannot play 7 on 7.   You would need 13 neighbor kids. That, my friend is the difference.

  4. Let's not forget Al Bundy. The glory moment  in Al Bundy's life: scoring four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire" Dixon.  Years later he still limps from injuries of that game, but still manages to drag himself to Gary's Shoes each day and be the best Women's shoe sales man in history. And he does it all without whining.

Be like Al.  Don't whine about old injuries.

Gage Carreon was only given one chance to play and that was in Baytown with less than a minute left in the game . He went 54 yards with 4 carries to score. Unfortunately they never put him back in . I spoke my opinion on this forum and Faircloth pulled him aside and told him that if he thought he would see any playing time he would be disappointed. He did that in front of the whole football team . All Gage said was ‘’Yes Sir ‘’ .He even pulled him off on special teams because they never saw him tackle . I mean when you can Bench 320 Squat 600 and Deadlift 640 all that @ 165lbs …I would at least see what you got ..  He stood on the sidelines and supported his team. Every time they called a timeout he went in the huddle with hopes of playing but that moment never came.  Gage had to find a sport that no one could sub in for him . He Broke two records and Regionals finishing in first place and Winning second at State . Only thing he learned at PNG was failure ! No matter how many times the coaches kicked him when he was down he got back up . .  I’m proud of him !

Crazy thing is that the kid on the bench is the only one with a STATE Championship !

I'm sorry your son did not get to play as much as you thought he should have.

Let's not talk about talent. If y'all remember, people use to say that HJ had no talent and it didn't matter who was the coach there. Now it's an expectation for HJ to make playoffs. It's not about the talent. It's about getting the kids to buy into a system.

Of course they are expected to make the playoffs. There are only 5 teams in their district.

way to stay undefeated JV Broncos 7-0, proud of you young men. Had some nice catches tonight by our 6'-7" receiver/linebacker along with some nice tackles and some runs of 55,15,and a couple more from our 6'1" QB, along with some good passing, also some nice running from our RB's #9 and #8, overall team effort great job. As always Go Broncos!!!!!!! And if this post offends anyone, Lord forgive me and God bless the pigmies in new guinney

I am offended by the fact that you misspelled Pygmies and New Guinea.  Oh, and good luck to those JV Broncos as they enter the playoffs. Hopefully they can win a few rounds.
