I am goin to say Dayton. Started out 0-3 and everybody thought it was going to be a long season. Then they lost a defensive lineman and argueably the best RB in SETX. They have won six in a row with the JV team playing in the 2nd half of most of these games. I think who ever has to play these guys better be nervous too. Also know one seems to be able to break da lil miniture horse they have(#15). He is running wild down there. Just want the competition to be aware and don't let him run wild on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought they had a JV team that played on Thursday night. Are they suiting them up again on Friday?

Needs to build a 6th junior high school out by GCM somewhere.
They could then designate two junior highs for each high school.

This willy nilly system they have now puts all of the high schools three years behind.
It's like the USA basketball team trying to get a team together and compete against those other national teams that have been playing together since they were 12.

They could have the new junior high and Highlands go to GCM.  Baytown Junior and Gentry go to Sterling and Horace Mann and Cedar Bayou go to Lee.

I've never understood the logic behind having a little bit from each junior high go to each of the high schools.  They gain nothing by doing that.  They lose three years of being able to learn one system in sports.

Let's assume Gentry has a good 8A team this year.  Does it really matter in the long run?  Out of the 30(hypothetically) on the team, 10 of them are going to GCM, 15 are going to Sterling and 5 are going to Lee.   So, you just have to start all over in 9th grade.

It's the same way with every junior high.  25% go to one high school, 15% goes to another and 60% goes to another.  Play with the percentages all you like as I am just guessing.

And Lee would probably lose out the biggest in this system, because Horace Mann is not a factory for good athletes.  Doesn't matter.  I would rather someone in Baytown have a chance to build a good athletic program.

Dick Olin built a good program.
3. The Coogs came into Stall Worth Stadium seeking its first win of the year as they took on new District 19-4A running mate; the Baytown Lee Ganders. These Coogs were tired of there losing ways and were prepared to do anything by all means to ruin the Ganders night.

Above is the first two sentences of your first paragraph. Take notes, listen up, and you might just learn something.

Stallworth is one word. The stadium is named after Dan Stallworth, former coach at Baytown High School. The Coogs were not seeking "its" first win, they were seeking "their" first win. The semicolon is also used incorrectly. When using a semicolon, you must have two independent phrases, one on each side of the semicolon. The word "these" is a demonstrative pronoun. If you use "these" you should not use the antecedent of the pronoun (Coogs) as the next word. Also, it is "tired of their losing ways", not "there losing ways." Lastly, you should not use three prepositional phrases in a row, which you did in the last eleven words. That is just poor, poor writing.

I have pointed out many mistakes in just the first two sentences. It is too painful for me to read further.

If I were your English teacher, I would fail you on this article. In short, it is horrible.

After seeing 3 weeks of football, what 3 teams will make the playoffs this year from 11-1A?

Colmesneil  1-2
Hull-Daisetta   1-2
Lovelady  1-2
West Hardin  2-1
West Sabine 3-0

Have ya'll seen West Sabine, I had a chance and was impressed. 1-A ball is just as good if not better watching than the big schools. These kids are big and fly to to ball all over that place. I'd like to see these kids up against one of the small 3- A school. They could compete and maybe beat the ones I've see in the past.

Hull Daisetta will play Tarkington this week

I also played for Coach Joe, both in Jr. High, and later in High School. He is the reason I am coaching today.

I can hear him today saying: "Get with the program!"

You're right!  And, you have to be West Texas bred to endure West Texas parents.  They are just darn right DIFFERENT up there!  I guess their noses have to be that high to know when the dirt is about to fly.

Well...you know...no one is as perfect as southeast Texans, right????

I coached in west Texas for over ten years. I NEVER had one single problem with a parent...........and then I came back to SE TExas..............sigh
