Beaumont is slowly turning into Port Arthur. I am not understanding your post. Are you blaming everything that happened to Port Arthur on white people?
No, just comparing and contrasting.  And this is not about PA, this is about the complaits on this board, mostly from outsiders on the name choice of the new stadium.  So my responses are toward those on this side of town who have their crying towels out.  Like I said earlier, before CBT, the school district meeting were all on TV, car lined up on all 4 sides on the administration buildig.  I can't remember how it was when I worked for Ch. 4 in '88 but I'm willing to bet it was the same.  East vs. West.  Black vs. White.  All I know after living in Beaumont since '91 and working in the district as a sub, there was a need for new buildings and CBT with the help of the voters met that need.  Before that, the status quo was acceptible.....
 2. If CBT were white, there wouldn't be an Ozen or anything new built in BISD.  I'll go to my grave thinking that....
 3.
SERIOUSLY...WE SHOULD HAVE SOLD THE RIGHTS TO....EXXON, MOTIVA, DUPONT...YOU GET THE PIC.
Motiva's name, despite being in Port Arthur, will probably be the next name or chief sponsor @the Reservation....
 4. I know when the district merge and how long each school existed.  I blame those who were in power when Beaumont had 2 school districts and after the merger.  It is what it is.  Back on topic:  Congrats to CBT making those haters mad.....

Ahhhh what short memories CBT haters seem to have.  I remember BISD being all over Ch. 6 news every Thursday night back in the early 90's with cars lined up all around the building with people voicing their concerns and anger over attendance zones, etc.  Back then the crybabies from the West End was wanting 'neighborhood schools'.  CBT came in and not only had a sound attendance plan(the elementaries were back to K-5 before or right when he got here), but simplified the middle and high school zones and unloaded West Brook by creating Ozen.  Now the whining is over South Park which the majority of the crybabies don't even live there anymore plus how the and the pace of the schools are being built.  Well, I'm in favor of CBT's name being on the stadium complex.  All outsiders should hush and worry about their own and all West End crybabies should either vote their reps on the school board out or move.....
Sir, what is wrong with us that live in the West end.  You use harsh terms such as haters and then call us cry babies.  Your post stereotypes an entire portion of the community of which is actually now quite diverse in its ethnicity.  Is this not a form of blind prejudice.  Would living in harmony and getting along with our neighbors be a threat to you? I refuse to stereotype you and your community.
Being in the middle of the situation and having kids in BISD and knowing it's history of shortchanging the Non-Westenders, y'all are a bunch of whiners......

 9. Congrats CBT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 10. For those who think CT is doing a poor job, BISD is recognized right now.  So call it Dr. Carrol Thomas Center for Educational Assistance(since it will also contain a natatorium-----that's a cement pond for all you haters outside BISD)
 11. I will remember this whole whining about JY next time a Lake Travis or a SLC run up 70+ points in a football game......
 12. Reg 3 5A also contains #1 Bellaire from Htown
 13. All sissy, no smash-mouth=another 1 and done for Xbox.  Remember, with LP in the district, he's playing for 4th place.....
 14. Slob all over MidCounty like they always do.  Ned Bball plus soccer and their sport, baseball, is beginning to fire up. Back to business as usual....
 15. To me, H-F hasn't been good since the days of Malveaux, George, and Simien..... And on that note, how many kids are being lost to H-J since Lawhon Rd. is the dividing line?  Also, how many people retire to H-F vs. young families reside there?
 16. PAM Girls against Pasadena Dobie Monday.....
I like it.  We might lose one or two, but it has seemed to work for us come playoff time.
Katy is the only one that I'd be worried about. The rest we should beat.
That Ike team will have 20 or so returning lettermen just like WB......
 18.

Just from what I have seen.... It is much easier to stop a run based offense than a spread offense (considering the spread offense has a QB to deliver the ball). If your defense back field and linebackers are better athletes than the offensive running backs (the quickest guys are on defense) it will be more difficult to move the ball running than passing.
BINGO! When was the last time you saw a Bone offense win or even play in a State Title game at the higher classifications? Probably Coach Gage and the Farmers 13+ years ago. That's because most of the bigger 4A and up schools have enough athletes on defense to defend it well. But your point BHBrave about the opossition gamep lanning is a good observation. This in itself is usually good for a couple of wins each year in District. Ask Vidor.
Waxahatchie made it to the Reg 2 finals against Longview this past year.....
 19. I'm sure the last time LP and DP were split, they played each other predistrict....
 20. Yeah, PAM and Sterling will be playing for 4th place.....
 21.
Don't forget Del Valle is in this region as well.
I don't see Del Valle getting pass the Dist 18 rep just like in football.  DV went 10-0 or 9-1 and got ran out in the first round.... But I also agree Ozen won't make it past JY for a trip to state...
 22. It's wrong to judge and comentate on sports with the sensibilities of little old ladies.....
 23. I'll just wait until I see a lopsided score coming from the Burbs and I'll post to see if I get any bites.  Probably just crickets.....
 24. Excellent post Zeek.  I guess it was a different world in '92 when H-J broke the scoring record.  The wussification of sports hadn't taken hold nor was there the internet which these tough guys who speak of class have to get permission from their wives or mothers to speak.....
