Bottom line, Westend, blowouts go on all the time but when it happens in the Burbs, no calls to the radio shows or no features on ESPN.  3rd Ward nets a blowout on a hapless Lee school and it's the topic of the day and the kids are labled thugs and whatnot....

A win is a win.  You can have 15 teenage kids coming from 2 parent homes with decent incomes, church going folk and alike and you can't tell me they wouldn't be cocky(the kids) putting up over a 100 points on anybody.  Winning with class come from people who've lost all their athletic lives.  This isn't Pee-Wee basketball.  Lee's job is to stop Yates.  Matter of fact, Yates has gone over 100 points 8/14 times.  They are on a mission not only to repeat as 4A state champs but to also finish #1 in the country.  But like I said and will continue to say, places like Southlake and Lake Travis or Highland Park, this isn't an issue.... WO-S beat Lincoln 80something to 6 Euless Trinity scored 88 points this past year(only non-class school to do so w/o complaints) Sealy 86 Newton 6 Orangfield 99 Kountze 0 Feminization of sports and those who whine need to get on some testosterone therapy....

Someone from that H-J team called in to 97.5 and he said Coach Baithrup(sp) called off the press in the 2nd quarter.  But he did say the 2nd five was just as good as the first 5.  And he also said it was the other team job to stop them.  Didn't catch who they put that 160 on but he did say they won state and only lost to Lincoln who won state in 4A that year

Now when H-J score those 162 points, where was the outrage?  Oh yeah, that was the good old days which message boards and internet nerds didn't exist.  When Lake Travis ran up the score on the football field, where was the outrage?  Lee's only job was to stop Yates.  Only 1 team has come close in that Hawaii tournament.  I guess if Yates were out in Southlake or Suburban Austin, there would be as much whining but since they're in 3rd Ward Houston........

[/quote] Soft in the sense of a spread team punching it in from inside the 5 yard line.  I remember a article on Central when they went from the shotgun to the wishbone and the 1 thing the coaches found hard was to make the kids stay low when firing off from a 3 point stance.

3-4 may or may not get you in.  Besides, Xbox will always have that loss to 0-8 Channelview hanging around his neck like a millstone....

Y'all better hope the UIL doesn't put 2 more teams in this district.  Xbox will be in a world of hurt having to win 4 district games....

I will draw a parallel with basketball like MC fans do with football.  This district is down in basketball when PN-G and Ned are winning..... They said the same thing when Ozen and Central would finish 1 and 2 in football...... But again, it doesn't matter, the title goes through 3rd Ward with LM maybe posing a mild threat.....

This years Yates team may be as dominant in basketball as the '83 Dangerfield football team.... So, it doesn't matter who lines up against them in Reg 3, Yates will avg 50 point victories on their way to state

I'd take Dean over Xbox anyday.........
