ok, i'm almost always pulling for the underdog, i'd like to believe it, but i can't, and you really can't either. btw, this is a good omen for you, i'm more often wrong than right about these things  ;)

Rey and Bronx Rox :o 8) congrats!  ;D
ok this is confusing, thread title is POSTER of the week, now this says "posters of the week is".....i am assuming that is a TIE which during football season is unacceptable (just ask Nac and Jacksonville), shouldn't these two have to have a POST OFF or something?
hmmmmm
to late already pawned my trophy for a jar of pickled pigs feet and 40 of lonestar ;D
sounds like you're already a winner then!!

 5.
Nach was trying to win by 8 pts. Evidently they allowed J'ville to score several times to prolong the game. Ended up biting them in the butt.
i'm confused, why would they want to prolong the game?
 6. congrats to liberty on one heck of a turnaround this season, not many folks gave them a shot this year (including me) especially after the first couple of weeks. its going to be a memorable year for that group especially the seniors.
 7.

Well being that am very familiar with both courses Liberty and Claiborne Park, and both Schools I promise you Liberty course is WAY faster than Claiborne Park.  The guy who won 21-3A beat the 2nd place finisher in district 22-3A by about 15 seconds less than 2 weeks ago.  You never compare one course to another.  Also, when you know you are that dominant in a district they probably didn't really try to set personal records especially with how hot the temperature has been lately.  Bridge City will be just fine.
For starters..I'm not even sure the district meet was at Liberty....was it? Or was it at Chain-o-Lakes?? If it was at Liberty..yes..much faster course..if it was at Chain-o-Lakes, like it usually is..then no. That is the slowest course I've ever run.
liberty, now i'm wondering why the 22 times were so slow  ;)
 8.
Kountze won their district CC meet today
do you have any times?
 9.
I obviously wouldn't go that far with it hum-babe. But, I will say that there are usually a few players on the 2-8 3-7 4-6 teams that could have started on the playoff teams..reserving spots though...thats horse censored. Thats like those little league teams up north that dont even keep score. Thats crap. I think the awards should go to the best players. Weither they play on the best teams or not.
yep i agree with that, noting that it's true that a RB with poor numbers on a 2-8 team might be a beast with the 9-1 teams line blocking for him, but thats just life and part of team play. the other variable is that the coaches can only "judge" based on what they either a.) witness first hand in their game against that particular team, b.) see on film from another game, or c.) see on the stat sheet. they don't see every game. so maybe coaches go based on recommendations from the other coaches about their own players? but quotas? my two cents is that would just be really messed up.
 10.
Is that a 5K course? That seems a little slow for top ten times? I'm not dogging any runners here..I'm just a little confused. I thought BC was faster than that as a whole/
that's what i'm thinking, the course is supposed to be 5k i think, but every course does have it's own "character" that can affect times. I know a sub 16:30 won 22-3A and Huffman's top runner is a beast, personal best of 15:39 last time i checked so he was nearly a minute off that, yesterdays heat and humidity surely made it hard to get good air, maybe it was even worse where 21 ran. guess we'll know in a week and half or so just where everybody is. edit:just to clarify, not taking anything away from the guys in 21, top 7 spots for BC is an impressive feat, congrats to those guys for such domination  ;D .....run forest run.....
 11.
I will go with DeBerry for MVP he is a good QB. Coldspring and Huffman has a bunch of good quality kids, but there are some good ones on the other teams also, will be watching to see if Politics will play a big role in the voting or if it will be the best player gets it.
i hate to say it but in all HS sports the "politics" are pretty much making these "honors" somewhat meaningless, there's obviously some good players that get recognition but.......i supposed politics have been around longer than HS sports and probably won't go away anytime soon, and it reflects poorly on the group making the selections even though it's most likely a small percentage of them that screw it up...
 12.

Voted again today. Looks like you moved up to page 6! Page 7 last night.
Thanks Karma to all.  We are on the 1st page.  We have like 6 or 7 different ones.  The are going to combine all the votes.  We are the 21st school listed.
i wondered about that, i saw hardin in several places. voted for the first one anyway, but since hardin is on several pages doesn't that mean that the "one" with the most votes is shown first so that when they are combined yall should jump a bunch at once? sneak attack....pretty clever strategy if you ask me.
 13.
What's the tie-breaker(s)?
coin flip with the winner selecting which of their opponents goes for a first round beat down.. :-\ nah, apparently it's some sort of points differential between involved teams system, so a 40-6 win would weigh alot more than a 7-3 win, so run those scores up boys!! as previously stated, a highly unlikely scenario for a 5 way tie but sure would be interesting.
 14. horns should be healthy after the bye week, a break or two should get them a win, maybe we'll even see some innovation
 15. for the kids it's not just about winning, alot of it is about playing. i understand what you're saying about the "b" squad getting playing time, but a coach has to be real careful about sending the wrong message, it's not just about recording the W. football is a little different but last year i saw a baseball coach pull all his starters after an inning and a half because they were up 8-0 i think, (something like that anyway). it really hurt the kids and sent a terrible message "do your job well enough and you get benched". made a game of it though because soon it was real tight. dumb move for morale if you ask me unless a player was laying down on the job. i don't know the principles involved but it sounds like the coach did right enough, as stated there are alot of opinions but in the absence of a "mercy" rule (why doesn't football have one?) he balanced play time for his starters, winning, and not making national news or embarrassing the other team. theres usually not much difference in 50+ to 0 and 100-0 except the latter makes headlines and pads stats. alot depends on your opponent, do they want to keep playing for the experience or are they just going through the motions? are your players taking it serious or getting sloppy? every situation is not the same, sounds like coach tried to balance it best he could.
 16. somebody should do a raffle for some REAL nachos with velvetta or better yet toasted cheddar, great fund raiser a buck a ticket and four or five lucky winners. it would bring hope to the masses.
 17. this explains alot, maybe now that it's taken care of things will return to "normal"..... bat found at Cleveland football stadium
 18. that's definitely some awesomeness, a pretty good case can be made for cedar park (new to 4A this year) too outscoring opponents 229-25 in 5 games (smallest margin of victory 24 pts.) as opposed to 4 games for brenham, but of course you can't compare across different opponents. still 3 pt./game, 5 pt./game, especially considering who they play, is tight. considering cp's offensive output this should be one heck of game to watch should they meet along the way. like someone said, good offense counters good defense.
