2.
Perhaps they are a victim of UOS
oh no you di 'int.... :o  ;D. now look what UOS did at HF...oopss, threadjack alert, sorry, so to clean it up, was the 103 pt. differential due to athleticism or pure skill ( I assume the response will be both ), but at some point ......
 3.
22-3A game
47-38
 4.
LT doesn't simulate the snap count at all.  They do call out their own defensive signals, which is fine.  Simulating snap counts is the easiest call in the book for a ref.  As a ref I can tell you that call is usually made only once in a game and that puts a stop to it.  Any accusations that LT could repeatedly disrupt the snap count are ridiculous.
sure
 5.
Yeah, the announcers on TSRN Sports are saying the refs are bad as well. .... They also said the the LT D line is simulating the Dawson snap count, and drawing the motion penalties on Dawson. Odd.
its not odd for lt, its in their playbook, not sure why they keep getting away with it. they are a great team with tons of talent, they don't need to break the rules to succeed. was it called on them at all tonight?
 6. surprised to see so many wide margin wins, was henderson "supposed" to lose big?
 7.
LT is a beast.
yes they are, and so is CP, just one play less of a beast yet again. LT does hold a substantial special teams and passing game advantage, very well balanced. its a shame that penalties marred the finish. with CP near the redzone with about 3 minutes left it would have made one heck of a finish. it's crazy these two are in the same district, how would you like to be the "other" teams in THAT district? good luck to whoever faces them going forward.
 8.
That score is incorrect. The final was 83-60 Livingston. We dont need it being any worse than it was. In Cleveland's defense we are starting all sophmores.
Where are the Jrs. and Srs.?
 9.
Wow, the SportsDay HS show on Fox just completely wrote off 4A Division I Region III. Said whoever comes out of Region I or II will have Lake Travis waiting.
Travis has earned the right to command that kind of respect. Rankings don't mean too much, but they tell something about a team. USA Today ranks them 15 among ALL teams in the nation (Katy is 3). At the same time, that's not a safe prediction, the last two times LT and Cedar Park have gone at it have been decided by a total of 4 points. CP has two consecutive shutouts against playoff teams (not an easy feat in 4A D1). Unlikely that streak will continue, however theres going to be a game worth watching at DKR this Friday. Whoever survives that still has to play a tough opponent, anything can happen that's why they play the games. What Sportsday says won't have one iota of impact on the eventual outcome. But realistically, LT or a team that can beat them is going to be one heck of an opponent. Until they're beat, LT is at the top of the heap and deservingly so.
 10.
What's it hurting?  Just curious..
As Syndrome said, "Everyone can be super! And when everyone's super, [laughs maniacally] no-one will be". On another level the purpose of the playoffs is to provide a method to find the best team, the best, anything that delays that process is just foolishness. There will be variables along the way, and some exceptions to rules where a 1-x or 2-x team may win a game or two, but the odds of that team impacting the FINAL outcome of finding THE best team is nil. Heaven forbid that a team with a legitimate shot suffers an injury along the way that may really have an impact while playing "extra" games that wouldn't exist if 3 and 4 teams per district weren't in the playoffs. If you don't subscribe to that philosophy and believe the playoffs are a good way to expose more young men and women to a "playoff atmosphere" then I guess it may make sense, but lets not delude ourselves into believing its about more than anything but money for the ones who decide, or that thats necessarily healthy. And in this day of stretched resources, for schools and parents, that really doesn't make much sense. And in the conspiracy department, maybe its UIL's way to equalize the playing field for the start of basketball so nobody gets a "big jump" while the competition is out playing deep into the playoffs..I'm just rambling, I don't really know anything about it, its just my opinion..
 11.
I think Coldspring should pull their starters out after the 1st qtr. Keep their players healthy and ready for the playoffs. I got to see these Trojans last year against Carthage and they have the talent to make it to the big dance again. Wishing the Trojans the best!!
Honest question, don't you think the starters would do better to play a good portion of the game? Unless theres an existing injury don't you run the risk of not letting the starters get enough playing time, even in the NFL guys want to play when the matter is decided. I know theres something to protecting against injury, but there are more efficient ways to do that, and I'm sure you want to get your reserves some reps but I think pulling starters that early could do more harm than good. Not to sidetrack the thread, obviously CS rolls. Will be interesting to see if Liberty's offense will eclipse Tarkington's district high 8 points against the Trojan D :o. Now let the "3rd string defense late in game" posts start, lol. It is what it is, the question is when the starters come out will Liberty make the end zone? Or maybe before?
 12. Must not be in Liberty's favor or we'd have 20 updates by now, just saying...
 13.
Final?
63-8
 14.
Can you imagine the liberty folk if Tarkington won? GO TARKINGTON! Wish both team and injury free gr8 game!
Is there some social form of harakiri just in case?
 15.

I wish Coach Carpenter nothing but the best... What a great guy and very knowledgable about football.... Athletic ability does account for something.... Let's end this post out of respect for the kids and a great guy that are trying to build a program.
Why end the thread? We did we say that was wrong?
I guess we made the mistake of observing and stating what was so obvious that it should not have been observed or stated, in other words we were not polite or politically correct, a trait that I've noticed many SETX posters lack  :o, I guess I'm in the wrong place  :-[.
 16.
Ok I think this is Homecoming or not? I seen the lady selling the mums on the corner this morning so should be soon. Men in black keep getting better by the week and think the Kpark game indicated some week areas hence were addressed.  Knew this team was young but at the same time hungry and showing. So with that said who you got?
you mean to win? thats not even a discussion unless it includes at least 30 points given...it's homecoming better make it 40. why don't teams schedule homecoming games to be competitive?
 17. Shepherd 9-8, scored tying and winning run in bottom of the 7th.
 18.
Ive been looking at this topic for the past few days and I finally have to say something. It is really hard for me to understand why so many teachers and coaches are losing their jobs. These are the people who spend a great deal of time with our youth guiding and directing them. Teaching them to do their best and not to give up when times get rough. These are in my opinion 2 of the most important lessons anyone can learn. With all the cuts going on, what is this saying to the seniors this year and to those who graduated last year who plan to become future teachers and coaches.
these folks don't have to be laid off, they'd just have to work without pay, or their co-workers would have to take pay cuts to make room under the new budget constraints. i completely agree with you that its a travesty, and without turning this into a political thread suffice it to say that our illustrious leaders are to blame for lack of financing to keep them on.
