1. I wondered the same thing, and I agree. Maybe they have a hex on the officials changing room.
 2.
Jasper Bulldog alumni Michael McFarland is the superintendent at Lancaster ISD. I was pulling for them. The team played undisciplined tonight - few teams can win a championship like that.
CP head coach is a Tarkington alumni, coached in HD and Hardin years ago, married a Hardin gal and drug her all over the state before taking the helm at CP after several years as DC there, so I'd say he's a setx boy, but I realize most don't consider anything west of the Trinity setx. He helped a great coach in Chris Ross build a great program, along with others, and was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time, sort of like CP has been since week 3. Lancaster has a ton of talent, I was really impressed with #58 after the matter was decided showing alot of class. Alot of those mistakes were not necessarily "forced", but came from confusion and frustration. Its what good teams make other teams do. Lancaster wasn't robbed on the "TD" late. QB should have never gotten the pass off, he would have been sacked had the defender not been tackled right in front of zebra whose arm was worn out I guess so he neglected to throw the flag. Funny how some folks only look at the end of the play for a result and not the events leading up to it. There were plenty of penalties on both sides.
 3.
Navasota would beat both of these teams
Wrong. CP would do to them exactly what they did to every opponent they faced in the playoffs, win the matchups. You can speculate all you want. CP is not a flashy team of superstuds, they are a TEAM that wins games down by down, often bending rarely breaking. I don't know squat about Navasota except they are really good. CP's philosophy is "it doesn't matter who you are, we know who we are". It served them well I'd say.
 4. Thanks for the info dwack, check out [Hidden Content]. I read one story where someone running an illegal towing scheme was sentenced to 18 years. Theres alot of good drivers out there saving our butts when we need it but there are undoubtedly a few bottom feeders out there just taking advantage of people. Even private property owners have sign posting requirements, was the lot marked at all? I understand there is also a law allowing you to sue an illegal tower and be rewarded up to 3 times your damage, you'll have to research that. They count on the fact that most folks will figure its not worth the hassle and will just pay and move on. beechnut maybe you should have made that phone call before coming on here flapping about slander.
 5.
Hats off to 17-4A!  Georgetown & Manor both still going strong and Elgin had a helluva season too, barely losing last week.  I don't feel quite as bad about being swept by them now.  Time to get better this offseason for the first round next year.  Untill then, I got a feeling 18-4A's baseball teams will avenge this.
Good point, 17 made a heck of a showing, one thing is certain, CenTex will be well represented at Jerry's house.

Flour Bluff ends its season at 13-1 after Rouse wins 34-0 in the region final. Rouse meets Georgetown next week Georgetown (14-0) vs Leander Rouse (10-4)                  .1:00 pm Sat, Gupton Stadium, Cedar Park
crap, i had Rouse going to State, welp guess that aint happening now. GT might smoke them.
While you're probably right I wouldn't count Rouse out yet....the prospect of an dual 25-4a championship is very real..btw, LT seriously would have struggled to make playoffs in 25 this year, I'm sure some will argue that but they were a shell of what they have been....CP has dominated opponents and a rematch with Rouse might be interesting at this point. but that can't happen....GT Rouse will be a great game.
 7. Leander upended by Flour Bluff 29-27 on TD with :05 left.
 8. What yall don't know is that after the phantom field goal coach pops had to "take a break" and realized his johns were on frontwards!!! He quickly made the switch and the rest is well.....history.

 10. I'd say do like you've been doing...not pay attention to it, close your eyes and let destiny take the wheel. On second thought Dawson is pretty good, may want to go inside out AND backwards.

They have about 5-6 kids that can take it to the house at anytime!
i didnt know anything about them
Looks like the polsters were not paying attention again. FB Marshall will take Region III IMO.
+1
 12.
Elgin has three loses. Lost to Vista Ridge 41-40 Lost to Georgetown 31-8 Lost to Manor 17-13 Lost to Connally 46-6 They are averaging 36.5 points a game and giving up 18.8 point a game BH is averaging 35.3 point a game and fiving up 10 points a game
None of that matters much now, it's all about matchups. You never know if a team had a play maker out (injury/grades) during those loses (and all those loses were against stout teams). That being said the Hill made a strong showing last night and it should be a good game.

 16.
Liberty lost to Bye Week by a very large margin so give me Tarkington by 3
It's all about matchups but lets keep it real, Tarkington has not lost a district game by less than 4 touchdowns, including last week to a guy I think had a broken or badly injured ankle (Townley) who had 5 TD's and nearly 400 yards passing against them and they play a team that just beat Shepherd who stomped the Horns. Hope they can end on a positive note but until they prove up nobody can in earnest pick them over even Liberty.
 17.
North Forrest old 19-4a re-alighned to 21-4 and almost closed by UIL  may be a D1 threat for some team taking them lightly ,Because they're in 21-4a. They're 9-0 giving up 25 tot points to 4 teams early(6* 6* 6* 7 pts. & have posted 5 straight shutouts.NF has scored (528 pts) allowed( 24) and the defense allowing 90.8 ypg  *offense avg 58.7 ppg  *defense allowing 2.8 ppg *off total yds=3,116 yds
NF is the 3rd smallest school in a 9 team district, and with smaller Wheatley unlikely to make it wouldn't that leave NF and Sharpstown in D2? Also in a 9 team district you don't get to "pick" much pre-district competition. The stats are impressive but how's the competition?
 18.
So in two years when the sophomore are seniors they will compete for a playoff spot?
That would be nice but for now just competing for a DISTRICT WIN would be nice. Lower levels have been doing "good" for a number of years, it's always "next year".
 19.

Wow!  Team on the rise huh???
Sadly, in comparison to past years, this is an improvement.
??? How exactly?
Tarkington actually won a game this year.  In past years they have had 0 wins
That is not an improvement in program, that is an improvement in schedule. Did they play better in the first 4 games? Sure, but they didn't maintain that at all and more importantly didn't improve on what worked. That's a system failure not a player personnel issue. Of course you're entitled to think otherwise as I am entitled to think not so we'd just go back and forth all day, I just don't understand why this level of poor performance is defended by "well its bad, but better than the pathetic state it was allowed to slide to" and "give it yet ANOTHER year". It's that mentality that has put them here. That complacency will keep them there. There were multiple win seasons in 08 and 09 (ok, 2 wins each) with at least one district win in each. So "improved over" 10-11 is not saying much even IF it's true.
 20.

Wow!  Team on the rise huh???
Sadly, in comparison to past years, this is an improvement.
??? How exactly?
 21.
Why dont they just let everyone make it then. This is getting crazy!!! All about money these days.
Of course it's too many!! But really they're just giving the people what they want, more games for little Johnny and folks are more than willing to pay for it, especially if it's a "playoff" game. Kinda makes you wonder why not just allow one more regular season game (pre-district) so then EVERYBODY would get those extra games, oh those wouldn't be payoff, I mean playoff games. The real kicker is now there will be TWO state champions in 3A. So why the heck not just reclassify everybody and make 1A through 10A so theres not 3ADIIpi%*GreenApple champ and 3ADI$#BlueDonut champ? Didn't the district supers vote on this? Hey supers, when EVERYBODY'S special.........NOBODY is......
 22.
Heeere kitty kitty.
I think kitty walked the plank.....
 23. Good grief. Was Tarkington missing some key players or did Shepherd get a Heisman candidate off waivers? This was supposed to be competitive, 35-0 at half doesn't sound very competitive.
 24.
smh Abilene drops a spot after beating their crosstown rival ::)
Apparently VERY loose logic at work in the AP, it's shown itself to be pretty meaningless.
