Who would you say is whining??? I didn't say anybody was whining. That's my point....Silsbee fans are analyzing their games, just as WOS fans analyze theirs.

It's amazing how WOS fans can analyze their game and they are called whiners, yet I see some of the same analysis here that we stated on our thread and noone has been called a whiner or excuse maker. I'm glad you can look at the games and see what needs work, etc. That's all the rest of us want as well.

He's having a tough weekend with Silsbee and A&M losing. And if that's not bad enough the team he loves to watch lose, won their game. 49-6. :'( :'( :'( LOL

Congrats to the Stangs on a fine game. I FINALLY started seeing AND hearing some hard hits! The changes made in the lineup seem to be good.

They get a cheerleading grade and drill team grade as well. To those who think I want this thread moved because I don't want it talked about is not correct. I wanted it moved because it doesn't have anything to do with the WOS football TEAM. And it is my opinion that if it were another school other than WOS, it would not have garnered as much talk. Gabe said it himself that he wrote about a baseball game last year. Where's the thread on that?

Whereas your posts are very informative and extremely well-put, WOSgrad, my point about it being in this forum is the negativity that it has cast over the football program at WOS, and is enhanced by the sarcastic and tarnished remarks from posters such as AAW who are obviously jealous of the WOS football program and continuously revel in anything that sheds said negativity over it. The choice has been made by the coach, the volleyball team and the parents. Regardless of where their preferences are, it seems obvious that it is not with volleyball, but because they are vb players of record, then I stand by my statement that this thread belongs on the volleyball forum. (Or perhaps the cheerleading and/or drill team forum).

What's he gonna do AAW? He'll meet with the coach, I'm sure and get her take on it. But if the girls decide they want to quit the vb squad and go to the fb game, what's she gonna do? But the question is, have the girls quit the team or will they be allowed back to play next week? My deal about Hooks is that he is over all athletics at WOS, he does have a say in all this. I was wondering when someone at WOS would do something wrong to get Aggies Are We started up on the WOS hate stuff. Thanks Hotrodg for your post. As I stated in another thread...this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Soccer players left a baseball tournament in DeRidder, LA to come back home to play a soccer game. Coach was mad, but put jv players or bench sitters in the place of the starters. Kids want to participate in multiple events and sometimes they have to make a choice. I'm not saying that the choice they made is right, I'm saying don't make a big deal out of it just because it's at WOS and football. It's happened other places, too.

I don't remember reading an article like this when it was baseball season several years ago, we were in DeRidder, LA in a tournament (and were winning the tournament) and FIVE soccer players who were also baseball players left the tournament to go play a soccer game. It left the baseball team in a tremendous bind. When you have a small school and kids want to participate in extracurricular activities, sometimes things happen and they make choices. I don't have the answer, I'm just saying that it's not the first time something has happened that screwed up a schedule. Let's not point a finger at just football and blame "the king" for all the things that go wrong.

LOL. We had that several years ago at WOS. Announcer would say what formation we were lining up in. I thought...What the heck? I think someone must have said something to him because he hasn't done that again! Made me laugh, but I didn't like it. LOL

There is only one school district inside the city of Port Arthur, though. PAISD. Beaumont has several schools, but only one school district. Orange is much smaller and each school in the county has their own "consolidated independent" school district. To be exact, even WOS high school is not in the city limits of Orange, it is in the city of West Orange. There are elementaries and intermediates in the city of Orange limits, such as Little Cypress Elementary and junior high (as well as WO Intermediate and Jr. High).

You miss the whole point of my posts. I do not hate WOS. I have tremendous respect for the team, particularly the coaches of WOS. I really enjoy watching this team and I am envious of their yearly success. The work ethic that they instill over there in Mustang land is second to none. I wish others would follow suit. I only post to get a rise out of the "homers" and call them on their "excuse" posts. I have nothing against WOS. I have become friends with a couple of the coaches over there and they assure me that they know where I am coming from. There is no hard feelings. I am just having fun, but not at WOS's expense, just a couple of fans. You may find my posts annoying and might think I am being over zealous with them. I apologize for that, I mean nothing personal to the "real" fans, they know who they are. I just like giving the others some heck on here, one in particular. Since I don't know you personally, all I can go by is what I read on here. I have seen you make post after post (even during the turf talk votes) against WOS, the fans and the football program. Perhaps you don't mean harm, but it sure doesn't come out that way. It comes out as jealousy, sarcasm, and as I said, total disdain for the program. It kind of gets old after awhile. It's one thing to "pick on someone", it's another to keep on and on and on and on until it's not really funny anymore. You aren't the only one who does it, so I apologize for pointing you out about it but some of the WOS "haters" (for lack of better word) don't seem to read all of the posts that WOS fans have made. I haven't seen any WOS fans not say that Jasper wasn't the better team that night. Just because they add that WOS made mistakes doesn't mean they are taking away from what Jasper did. We did make a lot of mistakes. We have things we need to work on. Pointing those things out doesn't make it "homerism". It seems that no matter what is said, it's not good enough for some people on this site. Maybe a pint of blood or WOS to completely bow out of the entire season would be satisfactory. I don't know. It's just weird how people are.
