  1. Don't know, but in the Kirbyville broadcast one announcer said "a few", as opposed to "several" for KV. That could mean most anything. Does WOS have anyone going both ways? Had to LOL at this one. WOS ALWAYS has players going both ways.
  2. skipper, your assessments seem to be well thought out, but keep in mind that Friday night was the FIRST game where Franks has really played well. Perhaps HE is coming into HIS own, getting the nervousness out, and will make things work for the Mustangs in whatever capacity he is used. I saw the defense step it up a notch from the previous games and hold off a very determined Kirbyville team. #36 played well for WOS, as well as a host of other kids. I agree that the short pass across the middle appears that it would work for the Mustangs but the fans have been questioning that for years and wondering why that play is not utilized more often. I'm sure the coaches will review films and make necessary adjustments to utilize the talent that WOS possesses to the best of their ability.
  3. I don't see anything wrong with Franks taking snaps from the center. Anything out of the norm to throw off the other defense is fine by me (IF it works) and I thought Franks played well on Friday night.
  4. Lucky? If you knew anything about Mustang football, you'd know that they practice the goal line stance as part of their fundamentals and it has paid off more times than the one last night. People from WOS aren't looking for excuses to "blame" a win on. Offense played poorly, I'm sure the OC knows it and will make necessary adjustments this week. You need to get on back to Tenaha and Timpson. I'm sure they miss you.
  5. kogt shows 16 game streak. Either way, congrats to the Bears.
  6. I don't know that I agree with Toby needing to be in the box. Toby has a way with those boys and I think they need his physical contact and not just his spirit somewhere above them. Could you imagine Coach Thompson being in the press box so he could "see" what the other team was doing? Just my opinion.
  7. Yea it is nice being 2A..thats where we belong...playing towns like WOS, Silsbee, Jasper, Bridge City..is just right out not fair to us..we are small...but we were in 3A for several years and held our own...so it wouldnt be anything we havent done before! We had to do it for years and years. Always made the playoffs and were just about the smallest team in the district. In 2000 when we made it to the finals, Ennis had 4 or 500 more kids than we did, maybe more. Then they came out with the 3 team playoff berth. WOS has what most can only dream of having and that is a "TRADITION" of winning. You guys have always done well. That says alot about your coach, team and commitment your players have to the program. You guys are getting there!!!! You have come such a long way in such a short time. I mean, you've always had players. You just needed a good leader, so to speak.

  9. I don't think the Wildcats would be at the bottom of the pile in 3A this year!!! Since Alvaraz has been there, K'ville has stepped it up!!!! He's done a good job there!
  10. Good post '69. It appears that it's ok for K'ville fans to say that they outplayed the Mustangs and were the better team, but it's not ok for WOS fans to say that we didn't play well. I've seen us play every game and we've definitely played much better than we played tonight. I take nothing away from k'ville's team. They played extremely well, but we played poorly...not like the Mustangs I've seen before. Good luck to the wildcats the rest of the season. They should be able to go a long way...their running back is a hoss!
  11. We better get our kicking game together. It may come down to that!
  12. dont forget about the pathetic 4 inch punt that put them in perfect position to score! Makes you wonder why we would change punters in the middle of the stream? Hasn't Haynes been the one punting?
  13. You're make people upset around here by telling the TRUTH...so be careful!!!! LOL...we had all the penalties and K'ville is the one upset! ;D
  14. Don't you just hate it when you think you've been screwed out of something? Guess what? You still lost...it doesn't matter anymore! ;D
  15. Surely you jest! You obviously didn't watch the same game I watched. K'ville played a practically "perfect" game....we got all the penalties! Trust me, the way the refs were throwing the flag at us, if the guy had crossed the line, he'd have said so!!!!! WOS won....by a hair!
  16. wow... one idiot calling someone else retarded and spelling it incorrectly! LOL...I was thinking the same thing!
  17. I don't think Cleveland is ranked quite that high are they? WOS is 3, I don't think Cleveland is up there...no offense. Coach Tullos has done a good job with the Indians.
  18. silsbee's lost to dibol has lowered an expected good game with wos. I don't know, Admin....alot of teams get fired up to try to beat the 'Stangs. I think it will still be a good game.
  19. I don't think WOS' defense is quite there yet. Give them a couple more games and we'll re-address the situation then but calling them the best this year is a stretch. They are very, very young!
  20. I certainly missed this one! Congrats to the Bulldogs.
  21. They are continuing practices and classes. Somehow, I just don't understand what good cancelling the GAME is, or what measures that is preventing? It just doesn't add up to me, but then, maybe I'm missing something somewhere along the lines.
