No Shock... Glad the Tigers were able to finish with the heat turned up. Wish i could have made it. Congrats to Coach Parks and the West Sabine Tigers. Still undefeated against 1A schools. And the loss was too a 5A JV team at the first of the season. BucketSitR

West Sabine Soph/JV played them several times last year. They were a good group of kids and played hard. I think that our Frosh team went over there last week but don't know how it went.  Just getting on the field and getting to play at this point in the season is a good thing. If you play there they have a rather short field ;) so some of the younger kids get a kick out of going yard!!! Good Luck to Burkeville this year except when you face WS>>> BucketSitR

Congrats to the Tigers. Game was a classic barnburner played in front of a packed house.  The dedication ceremony of the gym floor was very nice. Many of Coach Whittons former players were in attendance. It was also made mention of former Broaddus coach of 3 state championships Marion Neal, he was on the front right next to the court where he has been a fixture at Broaddus games since the 60's. Congrats to the Tigers on the win.

unfortunatly so...But i will nominate there point guard for 1st team all district.. That kid had so go in him....never quit...played 110%. May not of had all of the basketball skills needed but had more heart than anybody. Also liked the 70 footer at the buzzer and almost repeated it last week.

Maybe i can get pinelandflash to take some pics tonight and post them up for you. I wouldn't have a clue. Call the high school and talk with the principal, he can tell you what you need to know about the gym's playoff availibility.

Why can't there be a thread without "Look at us" Evadale coming up!!! I have had the pleasure of sitting in the "Nice Evadale gym" and coming away a winner in the past. The people of evadale should be very proud of their facilities. They are real nice and a great place for kids to recieve an education. That being said. Yes the West Sabine New School and Gym are as nice as Evadale's. The people of Sabine County have come together and built a facility that our kids can be proud of. We are more centrally located so i look for the availability of the facilities for playoff games in basketball, softball and baseball. You are correct, the game is in Hemphill. WS still has the contractors making corrections to their field. Hopefully the weather will let them get everything in place by next week.  Both schools have new fields that look to be great facilities. Sabine county has been needing these for a long time. The Tigers will be playing the Hornets this Friday at 4. The game may be moved to Hemphill unless the contractors can complete there additions to the WS field today.  Both teams have brand new fields that are real classy. I will enjoy watching the boys on their new fields this year. Bring on the real BBall!!! BucketSitR

FYI   This Friday's game against Broaddus will not only decide the district championship, it will also be the dedication of the new gym floor for Legendary Coach Jack Whitton. All former athletes are asked to be there. Come on out it will be a barn burner.  Go Tigers. BucketSitR

It is a real nice place. I think that i was told that it held 800+ with theater style seating. Even this big butt can sit comfortable in them. No more bleacher butt by the end of the game!!! Hope to see some playoff games here in the future. BucketSitR
