If you board members will look at my posts you'll find where I never called anyone a dummy. I also haven't called out any names or schools.
I don't have any business on the board of Motiva or Goodyear because I have no experience or education in those fields. Why should the field of education be any different.
-
I just spoke the truth. Didn't slander anybody. Truth is that most school boards are comprised of people who have no experience in education. I'll be the first to say that there are good board members out there but very few.

The last 2 years has been good to Buna. Was worried about the 09 year until we saw some of the freshman and sophs coming up. We have some good players that will be Sr's. next year and hopefully great leaders! Time will tell, but I think we will be ok this year. If we do good this year, hopefully, our Boys will be ready to take it to Newton this year!
LOL DEEP BELLY LAUGH ON THAT ONE!

School Boards are the only link of representing the people of the community as to; if the stiff taxes paid now days are handled with good stewardship OR squandered on non-education enhancing pork for top-heavy middle management and other spurious liberal spending fantasies.
The problem is that the powers that be inside the school Brass develop insulating loopholes rules so that it takes weeks and weeks and meeting-after-meeting at different tiers for a parent to finally reach the school board with an acute problem.
In industry where profits must be made, it would be impossible to have all that foot dragging, and inefficiency. Heads would roll where--buffer insulation--was fortified to keep from solving chronic and/or acute problems.
Personally I champion and support good School Boards that represent the hard earned money expended for taxes-- to support and to expect quality academic education for the children of the community.
You are partially right except the part about the loopholes. Many times people will jump the chain of command and take their gripes directly to a school board who then blindsides the admin/teacher/ or whomever. Many school boards are operating outside of the law in thinking that they are school administrators. I've seen first hand the extreme damage that a bad school board can inflict upon a district.
SO TRUE!
-
Most school board members are small people with big egos. Rarely do you find one that is one the school board for the right reasons.
Education is the only industry where someone can reach the pinnacle and have to answer to 7 people who may have no education (most of the time that is the case), no experience in education (all the time) and no business on the board.
There should be some requirement besides being able to breathe.

marsh was at hardin before haynes and they didnt do nothing its all about coaching and wos and the others dont do it on talent alone, nobody does, its all about coaching
True coaching does play a large part but so does having athletes. The talent pool at some schools are simply larger than others. That is a fact that many don't want to accept.

Its a crying shame that people can't even put up their own schedule without others attacking it. All Hardin has done is post their schedule and some former guy goes berzerk.
Sad really.
Whats EC's record against Newton?
-
Well, well, well. Yet another weak pre-district schedule for the Hornets. The only good team is HD. Tarkington was nothing last year, and is usually pretty bad every year. Shepherd was nothing last year and I believe they finished last in their district. I haven't looked into Trinity's record from the previous season, but I'm sure they're not a powerhouse team.
So, the Hornets play another weak pre-district schedule and give everyone in Hardin false hope that they may have a decent team. Last year should have been an example to everyone that they weren't that good. EC totally ran them in the ground, and so did Crawford along with any other good team. Hardin can't play defense and everyone in the town knows it. I don't think that RECRUITING the players they have is going to yield any better results.
Other than that are you pretty excited about their chances next year? Are you like a former coach or something? I can tell you one thing the kid that moved over from NC to Hardin should be the mvp of the district. Who is EC anyway? I have chills. Go Hornets and good luck to Coach Haynes and the bunch.
Keep up the good work Hardin. Hardin's defense this year was much better than it was last yr.
-
No actually it was pretty good and right on the money.

I can see where you might want to ease up on lifting for pitchers on game day but those others who are going to stand around all game won't be hurt a bit. Lifting helps all sports. Some of you football haters need to get a life. Schools run an athletic program, not a baseball training clinic.

Stop the speculation! Teaching is not like your factory jobs! You can go on-line to sbec.com and find ANY teacher in the state of Texas certification. You just have to type in first and last name. By the way, double D is CERTIFIED.
Great post. All of these button pusher "football gurus" crack me up.

Congrats to Newton and their new Coach. Coach Jones has our girls playing tough! Keep on rolling girls!
-
We are all impressed with the Lady Eagles this year.
-
Newton is playing some good basketball right now. Great game. Girls are playing extremely tough right now.
-
I would want the Uncle Henry as a first choice but the Ruger 10-22 would be my second.
The Marlin semiauto is usually found at Wal Mart for about $150.00. Its a decent gun. I like mine but it does jam sometimes.

Great Job Newton!
-
We love Coach Jones. Really doing a great job. Been a long time since I've seen our girls with this much confidence.

It was a lot closer and a better game last year with a much more potent groveton team. Lets see what 55 has to say about playcalling this year. Oh that is right Slack is the coach. A former bobcat, can't be his fault. I feel sorry for the kids, who were supposed to have one of the best teams in recent history, get let down by a school board that hires an AD that has no experience but is family and a bobcat. West Hardin put up a better fight against Groveton!
Yeah, Groveton wasn't near the team this year that they were last, and Hull supposedly didn't lose many players off of last years team.
I know a guy at Groveton. Said that HD was one of the worst disciplined teams they've played against.
-
I agree. Nobody even close
-
-
EC didn't make it but Hardin did. GO HORNETS- 23 did not get the sweep in the first round - Hardin spoiled it.
24AA didn't get the sweep. Newton and Corrigan spoiled it.
Now which is the better district again????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
-
I guess Groveton neither respected nor "feared" the Bobcats! HA!
Word is that Groveton took it lightly on the cats in the second half.
-
Does anyone know if WH has ever made it past the first round ? Just wondering.
I believe that they have. I've also never seen West Hardin whining about the location of their playoff game like you Hull guys have been doing. LOL

Groveton rolls over HD by 28 points.

I wouldn't have a problem with allowing a little coaching either. But, this guy was not correct in saying that football gets to do it. Football's first game is usually the first week of school so football usually starts 2 weeks before.
We football coaches would love some time with our kids in the summer as well. A few days in June or July would really help us out. i don't see the problem with allowing all sports a little while.
