Very Very impressive history. To have a string of shut-outs like that is simply amazing. I bet it felt like no one would ever score against them. The seem to have been down the last 20 years or so as far as playoff runs go. I think I only saw once that they had went deeper than the first round. But all in all...great historic program.

Not to many schools in the state of Texas has more State Titles in boys basketball than Buna and that means 1A through 5A

I just got off the phone with the director of the UIL and the rest of the season in 2A has been canceled.  The have decided to give the state championship to Kirbyville since the beat Buna.  Also Randy Musgrove was named first team all state at every position so congrats on a wonderfull season Kirbyville the trophy presentation and parade have been set for next sat at the Phillips 66 gas station on hwy 96

Hmm I figured they'd give the state championship to Buna since the Cougars have already crowned themselves the second coming.

Requiring a masters is stupid and ignorant.  Are you telling me that if there was a coach/AD without a masters that did a great job at another school as a coach/AD  and would be the best fit to come in and get PNG back on track that you think it's a good thing you don't hire him because he doesn't have a masters?  Get off your high horse.  That's ridiculous!

I'm fed up with this kind of talk.  Look, a school district has a right, as a representative of the people, to set requirements as they deem important to them at the time.  Does a masters make them a better coach?  Of course not.  But I bet a WHOLE BUNCH  of you folks are union members, that perform a craft.  Does being a union member make you a better craftsman?...NO it doesn't, regardless of what the union tells you.  What that means is that you bought a book, and now you can operate under the union label.  I know many very skilled craftsmen, including myself, who have turned down offers to join the union, but they aren't less of a craftsman because of it either.  With that being said, there are still companies that will ONLY HIRE UNION CRAFSTMEN...PERIOD.  Why?  Because it's part of their requirements...PERIOD.  So all you guys that are trying to portrait that PNG thinks they are holier than thou, just don't get it.  It's not because they think they are better than anyone else,  it's just a simple requirement.  If you folks can't get past that, I feel sorry for ya.  If ya'll were inteligent enought to understand all of this, you might be on a school board yourself...but you're not!

Your analogy makes no sense. Companies who hire Union craftsmen are under contracts that state they will hire union craftsmen and the union will supply those craftsmen to do the work.

PNG is writing the contract for this position and can put whatever kind of language and hiring stipulations they want in that contract.

With out a persons name attached , you can not check to see if that person has any creditability. I have no problem telling anyone who I am!  My name is Aaron Tippett I just moved to Groves about 6 months ago, I have lived in Kirbyville for several years.  I worked for the Jasper County Sheriffs Office for almost 14 years as a deputy then an investigator, after leaving there I worked at the kirbyville school district for several years as their school police officer.  I have been a fan of high school football my whole life and loved the job in Kirbyville because I pretty much worked out of the coach's office.  You can ask anyone in Kirbyville I was at most practices and just about every sporting event Kirbyville had whether it be baseball, softball, track, volleyball or tennis.  Most of the kids at Kirbyville called me Coach instead of Officer.  So have I ever been a coach?  NO but I think i know a little bit about what a coach does and what it takes to make a good coach? 

I watch Walker Texas Ranger sometimes, and I have a neighbor who is a cop so I believe I know about the law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want a guy that runs the spread there are 2 guys that know how to run in this area and has had success through out his whole coaching career doing too......

Isn't that choice really up to the Coach that they hire?  Are they really going to evaluate among themselves, or the committee, or the group of Dads, or whoever has the hiring power at PN-G, that they want to run power football so that's the only coaches they will look at?  Good grief, if that's the case, no wonder the situation in PN-G

is so screwed up. 

Why is it so hard to understand that this is an open discussion and not some attempt to influence either the powers that be at PN-G or some future head coach? I too have wondered whether a spread oriented coach or power oriented coach would be better. What difference does it make if people express their opinion here? Why does there always have to be a group of you that have no connection to the PN-G program on here running your mouths?

Guys, I do not believe that either side will have the power to make the changes that this country needs.  I am not a REP or DEM, I am not a racist before that point is brought up.  But if you are a sports fan or a former athlete or simply an American, there is no way you can vote for Obama.  This man does not respect the flag, the national anthem or for that matter, what this country stands for.  How would you feel if he came to your next Friday night home game and he stood on the sidelines with the players and during the National Anthem, he looked to the other end of the stadium and did not acknowledge the flag or put his hand over his heart.  There is no feeling quite like the tingle on the back of your neck and running down your arms as the anthem is playing, knowing that there are opnly a few moments left before that first hit.  Vote McCain or write your name in, no votes for Obama.
