Does Biden really think 150 million Americans have died from guns since 2007?!
He's about 149.9 off the mark!

It's like the only players you seen are from Beaumont, Lumberton, and HF (Beaumont).  Interesting perspective.

Jack Yates is legendary school. If you want to know a little background it is the home of Phylicia Allen Rashad (Clair Huxtable on the Cosby Show) and her sister Debbie Allen the show (Fame) and producer of the (A Different World).  Yates fans have to understand that your at a advantage every year. Yates is in a city with 3 pro sports teams. Your playing towns with a Brookshire Brothers grocery and Dairy Queen.

Probably be a senior heavy team next year, too. And the year after that.  And the... you get my point.

When you find the secret to growing 8 inches by spending more time in the gym let us know. That’s the only way small school high school teams are going to be able to compete with these big city junior college squads.

Aktar went to Legacy.   Grew up in BC.   Played AAU with the team that practices at HJ.   Just saying HJ benefits from move-ins on a regular basis.   Yates just has a much better pool to select from.  Sour grapes.

I don't know what happened. I'm simply questioning the legitimacy of four outstanding basketball players transferring to one 4A school in the same year for academic reasons. Since doing so for athletic reasons would not be permitted. Is that not a valid question?

H.J best player transferred from BU...Clay full of himself...He is running an AAU program at his high school that funnels player to H.J...Nobody and I mean nobody should feel sorry for Clay...When you got the UIL in your back pocket there is no need to worry about anything...

Hard to beat someone when the playing field isnt level. Yates has access to talent all across the city of Houston of about 2.3 million residents. Hardin Jefferson has the access to 2000. HISD hasn't really had a school do much in football or basketball (besides Yates) in years.

Let me get all this straight!
    1. Yates are cheaters and recruit players but somehow do it legally by UIL rules? Yates also had a player ruled ineligible by the UIL but the other senior transfers were apparently given the green light by the UIL? So don’t this make them legit?

    2. Clay Davis is a sore loser and cry baby and he had to come up with a reason why him and he’s team got embarrassed. I don’t agree with his statement he made in the BMT enterprise although it doesn’t surprise me. He knew a beat down was coming. In my eyes that makes him a cry baby and sore loser.

Time to move on and good luck to all the other area teams still alive.

How many players over the last 5 years were from Beaumont that played for H.J and Silsbee...Silsbee would not have any championships if the "MOVE IN's stayed in Beaumont but that's not my business...

HF situation is simular although HFs recruits are not as good and only a couple were eligible this year. That’s why he’s defending Yates

Winning cures everything.  If Lumberton was losing every game and not a playoff contender then there would be a problem with "yelling" or whatever else a parent could come up with.

Last year Memorial at Ned:  Hefner 21 pts, 7 rebs, 5 assists & 6 blocked shots.
If Nederland wins, it will be because other players stepped up to the challenge.  They have the pieces to do it.  Should be a great game.

Nederland matches up fairly well with Memorial.  While not as good as PA bigs, Nederland has the size and depth inside to compete with Memorial.  And Hefner is maybe a little more than a decoy.

Not when it comes to the skills required to be a good basketball player.. compared to skills required to be a good football player.  No offense.. but just being fast, just being big, or just being strong means nothing on a basketball court.  Any of the three can make you a stud on a football field, though.
    That’s what I meant.

More playoff teams and more money for UIL seems like it would play a part in the reason for football divisions.

It’s definitely not 100% because the opponent refuses to play man to man defense. I remember watching Westbrook play stall ball against Nederland in 2017 because they had a lead and Nederland started to make a run, so they refused to shoot the ball (and Nederland was in a man to man defense). They ran a motion with the guards that basically just passed back and forth for about 4 minutes in the second quarter. Nederland switched to a half court press to try to make them play, but then they went 4 corners and moved the ball well enough to not turn it over and they passed up plenty of wide open shots in the process. Opposing teams defense is not always the reason an offense will decide to play stall ball.

I blame the offense.  Good coaches teach their teams how to play against multiple styles of play.  A team sitting in zone is no less playing basketball than a team in man.  Holding the ball for quarters at a time isn't playing at all and it's non-competitive.  Saying that we're not good enough to score against zone so we're not even going to try sends the wrong message.  Especially in preseason/tournament games when you should be working on this stuff.
However, I think there are situations where it's wise like holding the ball for the last shot of the quarter.  I also like how Lincoln used to do it.  They'd hold it, draw the defense out, and then carve it up.  None of this dribble in and dribble back out crap.  Compete!
