5-3 for the 1st out. Brookeland’s lead-off back up. Coulter singles for the Wildcats. SB for Coulter and advances to 3rd on a throwing error. Line-out to 5 for the 2nd out and freezes the runner. Single scores Coulter. Single scores the runner and a throwing error ties it up at 8 with the Wildcats still batting.

Triple for the ‘Jackets plates 2, and has a runner at 3rd. Chester up 8-5 with 2 outs. 4-3 ends the inning, but a great inning for the Yellowjackets. Chester leading 8-5 going into the bottom of the 5th.

Line out to 2nd for the 2nd out and runners still at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. E5 scores a run, and runners at 1st and 2nd. Chester takes the lead 6-5.

New pitcher for Brookeland comes in with bases loaded and 1 out. First batter faced he walks in a run. E1 attempted pick-off to third scores another runner. We have a tie ball-game.

PB advances the runners to 2nd and 3rd. BB loads the bases with Yellowjackets and 1 out. Chester needs a base-hit here.

K, and then a HBP to the noggin’ gets the Yellowjackets a runner to 1st with 1 out. Looks like they may pull the runner at 1st after he was hit in the head and insert a pinch-runner. PB sends the runner to 2nd. BB gives the ‘Jackets runners at 1st and 2nd. Mound visit from the Brookeland Coach.

As usual, Brookeland leads off with a single. 1-3 for the 1st out with a throw to 3rd getting the runner trying to advance on the bunt for out 2. 6-3 to close out the inning. Clean inning for the ‘Jackets. After 4 complete it is 5-3 Brookeland.

Liberty takes Game 2 8-3 advances to the Regional Final.

Chester starts the 4th with a leadoff double to RF. PB has the runner to 3rd. E1 scores the runner, and advances to 3rd on the error. Fly out to 2nd for the 1st out. Fielders Choice 5-3 scores another run for the Yellowjackets. 1-3 to close out the inning. Chester cuts the lead to 5-3.

Lead off double, followed by a SB to 3rd. Single to RF drives in the run. K for the 1st out. Caught stealing for the 2nd out. K to close it out. After 3 complete Brookeland leads 5-1.

Chester goes quickly with a K, 4-3 groundout, and a K. Wildcats 4-1 into the bottom of the 3rd.

4-3 FC moves the runner to 3rd. Sac fly to RF scores another. 6-3 to close it out. Wildcats lead after 2, 4-1.

Chester has a caught-stealing at the plate attempting to take the lead. After 1 1/2, it’s all tied at 1.

Brookeland scores 1 off a Coulter lead-off triple, and then gets doubled-off to close the inning. End of 1 the Wildcats lead 1-0.

Regional Seni-Finals from Gipson Field on the campus of Hudson HS in Lufkin. These two are district mates, with Brookeland winning the two district meetings earlier this year.
