UIL Boys State Semifinal Sites Announced
DatBarkinBobcat replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Instead of having them scattered across multiple predetermined sites, why not turn the semifinals into one big Texas high school basketball jamboree? Similar to what we already do for the state championships. But hey, I'm just here to complain. 🤠-
SmashMouth started following Hardin County Early Vote
-
According to the Texas Secretary of State, Elections Division: "About 77% of adults in Hardin County typically vote, above the U.S. average of about 62%. Among adults in Hardin County, ~12% vote Democratic, ~64% Republican, and ~24% don't vote." So of the ones who vote, 83.12% generally vote Republican, 15.58% vote Democrat and the other 1.3% vote otherwise (Independent).

UIL Boys State Semifinal Sites Announced

Don't love it. there's going to be some matchups where both teams have to travel way out of the way to play each other, and others where one basically gets a home-court advantage while the other has to travel long distances. if they're not going to have the semis played at the state tournament then sites should be determined after matchups are determined. -

IMO all semi’s should be in the Houston area… starting to think UIL has something against Houston. They threw Houston a bone I guess but they all should be in Houston. -

You’ll have to excuse me. Sarcasm is a low form of wit. At 63, I don’t care if it’s low or not. I’m just am glad I still have some. -

If Silsbee beats Shepherd, they can roll at least 3-4 rounds deep. -

Youth. I consider the BU game a fluke. Y’all made me lose my pick’em against GCM. I thought for sure Lufkin would win that game. But—like I’ve told others—Simon will get his. He got 340 & 4 TD’s against PAM. What you don’t want to see is Wells with 200 or more passing. He’s averaging over 170 ypg with a 64% comp. rate, 19 TD’s, and only 1 INT. If LP can pass whenever they want, it will be a problem. I know LP wants to win. My main concern is that no one gets hurt. I wouldn’t mind an RSS win on Thursday either. Nothing against BU. I just want GCM and Lufkin to make the PO’s. But, I don’t want LP to lose to make it happen. The LP seniors have been through a lot with no home games for 2 years, and have still been District Champs & PO bound for 4 consecutive years. Y’all are getting ready to experience a similar ‘no home’ period. But—at the end & new beginning—y’all will be really happy about it.

They will be good in basketball and baseball this year! I predict a District Title and maybe even a Regional Championship run in baseball!

Couldn’t name every restaurant. But yep. The loaded spud is pretty good. Problem is, after I eat one, it’s lights out John Boy. No amount of coffee can resuscitate. 😆

Thank you sir. All of the info is greatly appreciated. I believe most of the Lufkin fan base is fairly familiar with the area. I actually co-own an air bnb property in Kemah myself lol. As for the game, idk. I don’t see how Lufkin can slow LaPorte down enough and then score enough to win. We would need to score every time the LaPorte offense comes off the field. No matter how that occurs. If we had more consistency on offense I’d feel better, but we can’t punt the ball 5 times and fail to score in the red zone 3 times in this game and win to tell about it. Lufkin has yet been able to put back to back games together where I thought they looked like a good football team. It’s Jekyll and Hyde. That’s why we’re in this position in the first place. No better a time than now I guess.
