I feel like if this is the issue for a team then a shot clock isn't going to make a difference. Not to be brash, but this sounds like what my old coach used to tell me, that's a YOU problem. You would still need to advance the ball past halfcourt in 10 secs, and if I'm the opposing team and realize your inabilities then I'm pressing you with simple M2M. Then the shot clock is the least of your worries cause even if you get it across I'm staying on you. Teams with short benches are going to struggle regardless, not as a reult of a shot clock. Let's be honest we're probably talking an extra 6-8 possessions a game. 35 seconds is a LONG time. The part I will agree with is the issues it may cause within smaller schools that you mentioned and officials, but make no mistake, if your team is bad it's not the shot clocks fault.

Anahuac at Orangefield Thursday, District Title
Bobcat101 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
With the addition of the extra RB, Orangefield has sufficient talent to establish the run as a threat & open back up the passing game which I hope will be more consistent. Orangefield did improve on passing & I hope to continue that improvement. If the Bobcats are going to make a deep run it takes all 3 phases of the game & 2 out of 3 isnāt good enough. With that said, Orangefield by 14.5. -
I dont see where Shepherd has played anyone decent outside of Madisonville where they lost 35-0. Super soft schedule. WOS 49-7.

I will take Silsbee. I expect them to put more pressure on HF's QB and knock him off rhythm.

Still doesn't make it a "Houston" school. That's like calling Tyler a "Palestine" school due to it being closer to Lake Palestine than Lake Tyler East.

I think it will be a tough match-up for both teams, they both have heavy pros and cons. But I still got Huffmanville FTW.

Huffman is far from being a "Houston" school. That's crazy talk.
-
I've just sat back and laughed at most of this thread but since this is the 2nd or 3rd time I've heard this mentioned, can you please explain how Huffman is a "Houston school"? Like what does that even mean and specifically how should that directly translate to having a better football team?

Lufkin at Goose Creek Memorial Week 9 Predictions
PackAttack replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in High School Football
Your darn right and I never said it did, only stating a FACT that Ball scored 31, whether it was 6 weeks or 6 days ago and who are you to come on this topic and make some big knock about it?? Sounds more like a defensive jester to me. We have had to listen all year about LaPorte's injuries and how it has affected their play, as if no other district teams have had key injuries to overcome. Be happy your undefeated in district through all the chaos and probably will remain so until the Region III playoffs, but don't come in here and try to correct me on a Lufkin topic. -
