15U Pirates Take Mid Summer Classic

Congratulations to the 15U Pirates out of Vidor. After only one practice and playing in their first tournament, these young men brough home the first place prize in the Mid Summer Classic in Houston this weekend. After going 1-1 in pool play on Saturday, they swept through their competion, including a 5 run bottom of the 7th to win the semis 7-6, winning the finals against the Cypress Slam 9-3. On the weekend, they outscored the competition by 22 runs. We have some things to work on, but for their first weekend together, they looked petty good. Should be a good summer for these young men.
