Ok from my point of view it doesnt matter how long one coached at a school to be considered the best. For example, if Phil Jackson came and  coached HF for one game wouldnt he still be the best coach HF ever had just not the most  successful at HF?
that is very true does anyone know how coach decello had done before coming to hf
coached kountze girls 2 years.. overall record i believe was 49-15  loss to Woodville both years in the playoffs...  previous year coached in tyler at tyler lee girls.. and he also has overseas coaching experience and the list goes on...

I played for Gerald Parr in 98-99 season the last year he was there.  Not sure about the leaving in a cloud of dust unless they kept it very secret and that's kinda hard to believe in a small school like HF.  HF was cochamps that year with Liberty with 3 district loses one to Liberty, one to Barbers Hill, one to either HJ or SFA can't remember.  Not sure how long Parr had been there but we lost first round to Kirbyville.  This was the 1st time 3 teams made play offs.  97-98 season HF was 3rd with no playoffs, and 96-97 season HF was 2nd losing to Kountze in first round.

Lets get some facts straight here:

-HF lost to Kountze in the Regional QUARTER Final....not Regional Final (they were in same district that year....HF finished 3rd and Kountze won it)

-HF did not win district when HJ was in it.....they split games but, HF lost another district game and HJ won the district title that year (not the same year as HF lost to Kountze)

-And Jeff Keener is one heckuva coach
Speechless not sure about your 1st fact because I didn't play that year, but as to your 2nd fact maybe in the 2000's, but not in 1998-1999 season.  HJ was 4th in district.

Watch it, Dove.  You're calling out 12gage (which he probably meant to be 12guage).

Kenner was the best coach that HF has had.
his best year they won two games in the playoffs

And yes HF did was co district champs with liberty....HJ had a few down years there.  HF beat HJ pretty easily.

HF only lost to Liberty once and Barbers Hill once in the 98-99 season

And as far as Parr....whom i played for....wasn't the greatest coach.
Good players can hide poor coaching.

Just realized that this is the Jeff Keener I knew from way back.  He was 2 years behind me in high school at Dulles in Sugar Land.  He was a decent player, and I had no idea that he coached over at HF.  Wish I had known, I would have looked him up.  He is at Friendswood now, and apparently was very successful for 5 or 6 years at Hitchcock.

Sounds like he has had a pretty nice coaching career.

Good question....

it could be a number of things (combination of things as well)
      Poor coaching
      Parents not pushing kids
Kids not learning the fundamentals at an early age
Kids not having that drive in them to win and to improve
      Uncoachable kids.....there's plenty of these
the list could go on and on.....
