Can Nederland win state this year?

If they make it out of Region 3, then they have a great chance.. But Nederland will have to go through LaMarque and/or G-ball and/or Yates... Tough road to get there, but it can be done.. They have a better chance than a lot of other 4A teams out there, not just our region  :D

you nailed it! That will be their toughest road. Can they do it?? YES! Will they do it?? It will take a lot of good fortune and playing really good together- which they are obviously doing right now...

No they can't. I honestly think making it to regional tourney will be really impressive. They were a game away last year but I don't think they will win in regionals against a Yates, La Marque, Ball. Much less a team like Dallas Lincoln at state.

Yes they can.  Anything can happen.  You would have never convinced me that Nederland baseball would have made an early exit last year but bats went cold at the wrong time.  All it takes is a team to get on a hot shooting streak or go cold to change an outcome.

Nope.  Even if Nederland somehow played very consistant ball, they wouldn't win state.  Maybe they can play with G-Ball or LaMarque and make it a close game if they are consistant, but they won't comming out of Region 3 let alone making state.

Do you see what having dominant bigs in the middle will do for you?  Both are 6'5" and both have moves down low and play good defense.  If you can consistant medeocre games from the guards, this team will not go down easy for Yates, Ball (they know who Nederland is already), or LaMarque...

Having two guys down low and a few play-makers on the perimeter is exactly what a team needs to be successful in any classification ;) I believe Nederland is a point guard away from being the team to beat in the region.. Consistency is going to be key for them in play-offs, and taking it a game at a time will be a big part as well.. The success for them in the playoffs will come from two things: 1) Great team defense AND 2) Controlling the ball (Limiting Turnovers)

But can Nederland win state? It's going to one tough road to get there if they do..
