Anahuac at Orangefield Thursday, District Title

This game is for the district championship.

Massey projections has this one 43-14 Orangefield

 

Not sure I completely agree with that point spread. We will see.

Thoughts?

I could and will probably be wrong, but my gut instinct says Orange is 15 points better.

Genuinely curious, did anyone see Anahuac here play for DC? Newish to the district and seemed like all the hype was on OF and EC.

Certainly not after the horrendous season they had a year ago (considering they did finish 4th) but the game I saw against a district opponent, they did NOT cross the 50 yard line and looked very young and inexperienced.  What a difference a year makes.

EC gave away their opportunities for a DC.  Orangefield by 21 to win the District.

I watched the Anahuac & EC game, EC was the far better team, they just couldn’t get out of their own way. Idk if Ceasar was hurt in the second half, but he barely got the ball. That being said, anything is possible with 16 & 17 year old kids, but I imagine OF rolls in this one.

With the addition of the extra RB, Orangefield has sufficient talent to establish the run as a threat & open back up the passing game which I hope will be more consistent. Orangefield did improve on passing & I hope to continue that improvement. If the Bobcats are going to make a deep run it takes all 3 phases of the game & 2 out of 3 isn’t good enough. 
 

With that said, Orangefield by 14.5.

How long has this district been playing on Thursday nights?  It seems like they adopted the idea nearly a decade ago?  Maybe not quite that long.
