Bee Gees take the L train back to Hardin County.

Im interested in seeing progress of SO qb since the LCM scrimmage. Did they get back to full strength or do they still have some injured players out?

Matthews is 51-80 (64%) for 691 yards, 14 TD's, 0 INT's on the season. Three of the 6 games played he never attempted a pass in the 2nd half. This last game vs. Jasper he was 8-9 for 156 yards and 3 TD's all in the 1st half. In the Worthing game he only attempted 11 passes, completing 8 (all in 1st half) and in Bridge City game he only attempted 14 passes, completing 8 (all but one of those attempts were in 1st half).

Silsbee is still missing a starting LB (broken collar bone) and a starting RB/Safety (ACL). Both are very significant losses.

Both are out for the season i believe. I dont think Silsbee defense can hold Jefferson under 200 yards. I do think Silsbee offense will move the ball on WOS.

I thought he would be more dual threat. Maxpreps, which matches the stats above shows only 1 rushing TD. Possibly hasnt been needed in that role

Yep. He doesn't run at all. Zero read option plays.

Last year Silsbee QB Johnson was much more of a threat running the ball. He rushed for over a 1000 yards last year. (passed for 1200 as well)

Silsbee runs the ball with about 6 different backs. (5 now that one is out with ACL) Run mostly out of I and tandem. They will go shotgun some. Basically 50/50 between those formations unless Silsbee has a big lead then it's all I formation.

Doesn't matter!! If W.O continue to play man and bring heat they will win by a couple scores.that #1 for silsbee can play.but, w.o corners can slow him down if they play man.and they want be able to slow KJ down!!

If I'm Silsbee, I start to run Mathews a little bit more. He has some good speed and size. Zone read could could open up the offense more. Im not a fan of the bubble screen to Williams as it seems we don't block that well and it goes for zero to very short gains. Id like to see us throw over the middle a bit more or some 10 yard comeback routes.

WOS has rhe better team but anything csn happen. Silsbee has upset WOS a few times.

Silsbee has improved throughout the year, and common opponents are a fool's game, but based on what HF and Silsbee have done against common opponents, and based on what I saw the 2nd half from WOS last Friday, I think the stangs win this one by more than people think. Once they started switching coverages and bringing the heat our QB was seeing ghosts. With Silsbee's QB being a pocket passer, I have a feeling he's gonna be under pressure all night.

The key for Silsbee is the OL has to move people out the way. Silsbee is a run 1st team.

Good points.

One point you left out. Silsbee runs the ball much better than HF. Play action will work a little better for Silsbee than it did for HF.

If WO-S can stop the run game, it will be a long night for the Tigers.

I've always said a great pass rush is the best pass defense. WO-S proved it last Friday night and Silsbee did it last year vs. HF. Sacked this QB 6 times and hurried him a dozen more times.

I've told folks that HF's lack of a good run game will come back to haunt them against really good opponents.

Our run game has been fine up until we played WOS, but I do get your point. Against Stafford, for instance, who Silsbee and HF played in back-to-back weeks, Silsbee rushed for 296 yds on 50 carries. HF the week before rushed for 269 yds on 38 carries. Against Vidor Silsbee ran twice as many times as HF, but Silsbee averaged 6.4 yds per carry while HF averaged 6.5 yds per carry. While Silsbee may run better than HF, I don't think they run much better as you claim, they just run much more. On the year Silsbee has averaged 6.4 yds per carry, and HF 5.9, and that was after a mediocre night of running against WOS, and against a tougher schedule overall.  I will say yall are without a doubt a better power running team.
