Memes and X posts no longer allowed

After a discussion with the owner of this site (Jordan Wilson) we have made a decision that we hope will help clean some things up in this forum.

Starting today, Sept. 18, no member is allowed to post any memes or X posts in the political forum. Too many times these posts have violated the sites rules and policies and for the most part, it's flooded the forum and drives personal attacks.

Any meme or X post will get deleted. Any member who continues to post memes and X posts will be subject to consequences up to a permanent ban.

You are allowed to post links to articles or videos but not the videos themselves.

We are taking these extreme measures in order to clean things up in this forum. This forum is not how the owner wanted the political forum to be when the forum was created.

This is how it will be for the foreseeable future.

The prohibit of memes and X posts is only for the political forum. They will be allowed in other forums.

It was long overdue. 

I've been here a minute or two, and I remember this page being about debate and discussion and @tvc184 being a huge part of the discussion.

As I typing this, I recalled the youth forum when I joined in 2008 and how bad it would get......this has almost become that,

Good Move, maybe we will get back to discussion.

Great decision. So much divisiveness in the world today. I cant even browse political forum anymore. Im 25 pages behind with unread topics going back almost 3 years. I used to be very active there.

I agree it needs to be cleaned up but I don’t agree that eliminating memes and x post is the solution. In fact, we have a political meme thread that I suppose should be locked or deleted now. I feel the personal attacks and disrespect will continue. JMO. However, I support whatever y’all think you need to do. I have some appropriate memes that address this situation but I’ll reframe from posting them.🙂

Does this include YouTube videos? I post lots of videos and trying to post just the link, the video attaches. I’ll abide by your decision.

I understand the difficulty in posting just the links to videos. Most times the site automatically posts the video.

I would say just make sure no prohibited language is involved and if so, please post a warning with it.

Not all videos are allowed but some are that fall within our guidelines.

The point being, lots of these posts are driving the attacks and violate policy so we are taking these measures to curb the nonsense.

Hopefully this helps. I haven't been in the political forum maybe 10 times this calendar year because it's gotten to the point that there's really no point at all.

I am well aware of it being my choice but when discussing political topics news video from x provides a lot to the discussion. X is usually days sometimes months ahead of the main stream media. 
 

I guess next we’ll be required to wear a mask while posting. I personally think it’s a horrible idea but that’s just my opinion. Let the conforming commence.
