Nah but for real tho I have to see how yall dbs hold off against they receivers

I hear ya’. I’m waiting to see about the entire D myself. They may not have to be a juggernaut this year. Just serviceable, bend don’t break.

This is the first time I can remember—and I’ve been watching the program since the 70’s—that LP actually has 2 D1 deep threats, along with a D1 commit TE, a D1 QB, and Sean Simon. Add in a K who is solid from 50 in, and a Soph RB who could probably start for many other teams.

All at the same time.

There will be some points scored this year—regardless of the defense of the opponent. Just too much to cover.

How things will be shared will be interesting.

The only Sr. D1 is the TE. The rest are underclassmen. LP looks to be a beast for at least the next 2 years. One of the D1 WR is only a freshman with offers from Baylor & others already.

If all stay at LP and healthy, we should have some good battles again.

Sounds like we need to get yall now than later

I'd expect LP to use the first few series to try to establish the run game as usual. If they are able to control the ground, and get a lead, then we may see some of the new offensive schemes to mix it up. Not sure if they'll want to play it close to the vest and not show much before the Border Battle next week, or if they'd prefer to get the in-game work, and put stuff on film to make the Deer have to think about defending different looks.

I do expect a 'pointy game.' But, I'd be pleasantly surprised if the D held the Chargers somewhat in check considering their youth, and historical weakness against the pass. If they show they can slow/stop the passing game of Crawford, my expectations for them will go way up.

Massey Ratings say LP 35, Crawford 28  Good luck to the Dawgs!

Saw some of those Massey predictions. Some are wildly off.

Not saying this is one of them but any rating predicting Kountze to beat Buna and Hamshire-Fannett to beat La Marque by 4 TD's is not to be looked at too seriously.

Massey for me is starting to make me feel the same way I think of MaxPreps. 🤷🏾‍♂️

If the info I'm being told is correct from someone who has seen LP this year--and used to coach--I'd add about 10 to LP's score, and subtract 7 from Crawford's. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 45-21 LP. We'll see.

They were way off on most of La Porte's games last year. Even picked the wrong winner on at least 2 or 3 games.

Not as bad as DCTF. In '24 when Angleton played 5 playoff games and got into the semifinals, DCTF picked the wrong winner on all five of them. And that was at the end of the season when they should have known a lot more about teams.

I think Crawford is better than you think. Or maybe they're worse than I think. These week 1 games are always kinda tough. I know Crawford has some studs, and the jump they made last year from the year before was insane. I would expect for them to be even better this year, and wouldn't be surprised if they didn't get some transfers from the Fort Bend area after their success last year as well. Although from what you're saying LaPorte has made quite the jump as well.

I remember. They picked against LP every PO game that year also. Until the rematch with y’all. We know what happened then.

I don’t blame any computer for getting y’all wrong last year. Injuries wiped y’all out. They can’t factor that in.

Crawford may be exactly what you think, and La Porte may be exactly what I was told—which is a much better offense and kicking game than 2024, and a better than expected defense even though they’re young.

I’m going by LP players on the roster, and the former/retired LP coach’s take on the team right now. I haven’t seen them play yet this year.
