I'll never understand the amount of time and energy people put into talking, debating, and arguing about politics, as if politicians truly have our best interests in mind.

One day, people will realize that it doesn't matter whether you're Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, white, Black, brown, or anything else. At the end of the day, none of these politicians—from the local level all the way to the president—don't have the public's best interests at heart.

I think what you wrote is exactly the opposite of what you meant.

All I know is, I'm getting a little nervous with all the admitted Socialists being elected.

I meant what I said... Too many people believe (live and die) on every word politicians say. Politicians do not have our best interest in mind. Politicians want chaos and division. Politicians do not want unity. A unified America... "We The People" would be a nightmare for politicians.

The only people politicians care about are the ones with the most ZEROS. The ones that contribute the most and the ones that can help get their agenda(s) passed.

Agree. But, you wrote -

"...none of these politicians...don't have the public's best interests at heart."

Basically, you're saying they all DO have the public's interest at heart. That's why I said I think you meant the opposite. 🙂

I know what I wrote. I can read and write.... and the double negative that can be taken literally...meaning... NONE OF THESE POLITICANS HAVE OUR BEST INTEREST.

I'm of the opinion that SOME of the politicians start out with good intentions. Then, the political Parties, and other influences get ahold of them, and they lose sight of why they wanted to represent. They get corrupted--so to speak. That's just me though.

Term limits would be a wonderful thing. But, it's a pipe dream.

Those politicians that give in and lose sight are weak minded and greedy.

The irony is we keep re-electing most of them. It’s our fault

Don't listen to what they want you to hear. Do your own research. Do your own fact checking. Base your thoughts and opinions on what you believe.

I personally think politicians go from wanting to represent their constituents to thinking they have to vote with what THEY agree with......which is completely wrong.  They think they become more than they are.

I would LOVE to her a Senator or representative say, " personally I would vote no if it was just my decision, but based on the feedback of my constituents, I have to vote yes.

As far as the forum, I enjoy reading other opinions.....no matter how wrong they are. lol

No one is right or wrong. Like it or not.... We're all in this mess together and the only way to get out of this mess is to come together. Stop giving politicians what they want. Stop giving into the chaos. Stop giving into the he said, she said.

That doesn’t answer my question. That’s good news. How many of those jobs are going to foreign born workers? Just Curious

Feel free to think that increases in wages, manufacturing, construction and markets hitting record highs are due to foreigners if you wish!

Doesn’t matter what I think, this what the Bureau of Labor Statistics says.

Foreign-born workers have accounted for a significant majority—and in some periods, roughly 80% to 90%—of net U.S. job gains since the pre-COVID peak. This surge reflects their vital role in post-pandemic economic recovery and tightening labor markets, where their employment numbers rapidly outpaced native-born growth.

I don’t care if they have the public’s interest at heart. I want to support a person who votes the way I wish. Motivation is almost meaningless.

I would rather have a politician vote for my beliefs most of the time, even if for selfish reasons on his part than a person who is truly caring and votes for everything I hate.

If a politician votes the way you want, why are you worried about analyzing his motivation or thought process?

You note that in your opinion that every single one is corrupted by self interest. Okay, so they are all equal on that point. So you never vote or care who wins because they are all the same?

This could be one of the factors involved in Americans not getting hired with the increase in jobs.

That could be a reason for some, but for  80 to 90 percent of native born Americans? Hey I am glad the job hiring numbers are good, that’s a good sign for the economy going in the right direction. Some of it could be that some don’t want to work for peanuts. I’ve worked for myself for 20 years and I’ve learned people will work you all day for nothing if you let them. Imo it would be better numbers if the majority of those jobs were going native born Americans.

Well, of course it was not intended to cover them all. Just something I found. I think a lot of it could be that Americans are spoiled and believe that they should make $20 per hour working at McDonald’s. I’ve built scaffolds, poured concrete, done remodeling (including roofing which I hated), was a swamper for pipe liners, and dug ditches for plumbing. I ended up inspecting, which kept me out of the weather and saved my back. Worked beside blacks and Mexicans, but never encountered any other races doing the manual labor jobs. I would like to see what these jobs are that Americans are not being hired to do. If they’re high tech or required educations, maybe we should stop graduating high schoolers that can’t read, write, or do even basic math. Colleges aren’t doing much better. Just me two cents.
