Silsbee long time Assistant Coach Ira Brooks

Silsbee assistant coach Ira Brooks will be coaching his last home game tomorrow night. Coach Brooks will be retiring at the end of this season.

Coach Brooks has been coaching at Silsbee for 32 years. He has been a mainstay and key component to the success of the Tiger Basketball program. His JV teams have always been successful and have won many district championships even when several freshmen and sophomores were playing varsity.

Coach Brooks has earned the respect and love from many coaches in our area. He has been a fantastic coach but an even better man. He will be missed.

Folks like hime are indeed rare in schools today.  A lot of schools are used as a stepping stone to move on up.
