If they come up against a team that can score points, be TO free, and pin them deep with special teams, that team has a good shot at a win. PAM hasn't shown to be able to consistently drive the entire length of the field on sustained drives very often. Could LP be that team? Possibly. Funny thing is, they've been in position most of the time. They're just not completing the play. So, I can't really say it's the coaching. Yes, they have allowed some explosive plays. But, the coverage has been better than previous years. It's almost like Lufkin against BU. Lufkin's D isn't near what they showed against BU. I don't know how many TO's LP has created. But, I don't remember many at all. Quote

La Porte's last loss in district play came on Oct. 6, 2023 in a come-from-behind win by PAM in Port Arthur in Berneathy's 2nd year. Injuries are beginning to pile up and really test the Dawgs' depth.
