bullets13 Posted yesterday at 06:00 PM Report Posted yesterday at 06:00 PM I know there's a lot of politics that goes on in these things, but a one-way player (with a little special teams thrown in) getting Utility Player of the Year over Pirtle is wild. KF89 1 Quote

Well, he was a unanimous selection. So every coach in the district (including HF) felt the pick was accurate. Quote

A reason why I no longer post All-District teams. They have become a farce with all the different "special" accolades and the fact that more than 44 players make 1st team and 2nd teams. 71 players made Superlatives/1st/2nd teams (not counting honorable mentions). A normal count would be 47-48, at most 50. bullets13 1 Quote

If the WRS awards had a utility award, Pirtle would be on the shortlist of favorites to win it. And just so it's clear, because I know he's one of your guys, this is in no way a knock on the player. He had a really good season and deserved recognition this year. It's just strange to me that this was how the coaches worked it out to do it. Quote

Dellinger played 5 different positions this year and was most definitely a utility type player. Quote

I'm not going to go any further into this as I don't want any of it to come off as criticism of the player, who as I said had a very good year. Quote

There were a few very good versatile players in the district that could have had a case. bullets13 1 Quote
